Suho stared at his phone screen, the faint glow illuminating his sharp features in the dark room. The picture of Han Seojun stared back at him. The infamous bad boy, the one everyone gravitated toward—the one who never had to try. Suho knew everything about him. His routines, his habits, the way he smiled when he was flirting, and the scowl he wore when something annoyed him.
But this wasn't a case of fascination. This was years of planning. This moment, this school, everything had been set in motion long before Suho ever stepped foot inside its gates.
Seojun noticed him today.
It was sooner than expected, but not unwelcome. Suho had orchestrated every detail of his transfer, knowing it would catch Seojun's eye. He'd made sure to appear aloof, mysterious. Seojun liked the chase. Suho had studied him long enough to know that.
He swiped through his phone, a small folder of saved pictures appearing on the screen. Photos of Seojun, taken from afar, from places Seojun would never think to look. Some were candid shots—Seojun laughing with his friends, Seojun riding his motorcycle late at night, Seojun staring off into the distance, alone. Others were more intimate, taken at moments where he was entirely unaware, like a predator observing its prey.
But what Han Seojun didn't know was that he was the one being watched.
Suho set his phone down and leaned back in his chair, the ghost of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. The obsession wasn't one-sided. It never had been. If only Seojun knew how long Suho had been watching him, how long Suho had been waiting for this moment.
The first move had been made.
Tomorrow, Suho thought, the game would continue.
Seojun couldn't sleep. His mind was racing, images of Suho flashing like a slideshow every time he closed his eyes. The way Suho had looked at him—so cold, so distant. There was something behind those eyes, something Seojun was determined to figure out. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and rubbed his face, frustrated with himself.
This wasn't normal for him. He wasn't the kind of guy to lose sleep over someone he barely knew. But Suho had triggered something in him, something he couldn't shake. It was like Suho had placed a hook in him, and the more he thought about him, the deeper it dug.
He grabbed his phone, scrolling through social media for any trace of Suho. But there was nothing. No Instagram, no Facebook, not even a hint of his existence online. That only made him more intrigued.
Who the hell was this guy?
The next morning, Seojun arrived at school earlier than usual. He wasn't sure what he was expecting—maybe to catch a glimpse of Suho before the day started, maybe to find some clue as to what made this guy so hard to read. He spotted Suho almost immediately, walking alone through the courtyard with his headphones on, his expression blank as usual.
Without thinking, Seojun followed him. He trailed behind, keeping a safe distance as Suho moved through the school with practiced ease, completely unaware—or so Seojun thought. Suho's every movement was smooth, deliberate. It was like watching someone who knew exactly where they were going and why, never faltering.
Suddenly, Suho turned a corner and disappeared into the library. Seojun hesitated. Following someone into the library wasn't exactly his style, but something pulled him forward. The air inside was cool and quiet, the scent of old books filling the space. Seojun scanned the rows of shelves, looking for that familiar figure.
There. At the back.
Suho was standing by the window, flipping through a book without much interest. Seojun's heart raced as he approached, unsure of what he was going to say or why he even cared. But as soon as he was close enough, Suho's voice broke the silence, catching him off guard.
"Following me again?"
Seojun blinked, taken aback. Suho didn't look up from the book, but there was a faint smirk on his lips, like he had been expecting this all along.
"I wasn't—" Seojun started, but stopped himself. Lying wasn't his style either. "Okay, maybe I was."
Suho finally glanced up, his eyes locking onto Seojun's with that same unreadable expression. "Why?"
Seojun shoved his hands into his pockets, leaning against the bookshelf casually, even though his heart was pounding in his chest. "You're interesting."
Suho raised an eyebrow, but there was no surprise in his eyes. It was almost as if he knew this would happen. "Is that so?"
Seojun shrugged. "You're not like the others."
Suho closed the book with a soft thud, turning his full attention to Seojun now. His gaze was intense, piercing through Seojun like he was searching for something beneath the surface. "You don't even know me."
"Maybe not," Seojun admitted, his usual cocky demeanor slipping just a little. "But I'm going to."
There was a pause. The tension between them hung in the air, thick and electric. For a moment, Seojun thought he saw something flicker in Suho's eyes—something darker, something more dangerous than the cold indifference he had been showing. But it was gone just as quickly as it had appeared.
"You think so?" Suho asked, his voice barely above a whisper. There was a challenge hidden in his tone, something that sent a chill down Seojun's spine.
"I know so."
Suho stepped closer, just enough to close the gap between them, and for a brief second, Seojun felt like he was losing control of the situation. Suho was too calm, too collected, like he was playing a game that only he knew the rules to. But Seojun didn't back down. He never did.
"I'll see you around, Han Seojun," Suho said quietly, before walking past him and out of the library, leaving Seojun standing there, heart racing, thoughts swirling.
As Suho disappeared from sight, Seojun's hands clenched into fists. This wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
Suho walked down the hallway, his expression cool and composed, but inside, his mind was buzzing. Seojun was taking the bait. He could see it in his eyes, in the way he followed without hesitation, in the way his curiosity had turned into something far more dangerous.
Good, Suho thought. The game had begun. But what Seojun didn't realize was that he was already playing a part in a plan much bigger than either of them.
And Suho was just getting started.
