Looking up at the sky, he mourned.

He felt cold tears fall down his face, and the blue mist that fell from his breaths cooled his body down further.

He had never been so cold.

Never.

The blue steve village was full of life and warmth, despite the freezing temperatures that were shown by the frozen over river and the spikes of ice that were sprinkled around the snowy landscape.

Even when he was away, adventuring with Rainbow. He hadn't felt cold then.

Apart from one time.

One time before he came back.

That time when the clouds blocked the sky. In that desert. On A sandy hill of sorts.

When he died for the first time.

The voice of Rainbow. Not the Rainbow of this world. But the Rainbow he knew first.

His voice echoed in his mind, alongside his own, younger voice.

Their last conversation like that.

When he was still a steve.

"To me, you were always an elder blue!
You've helped me out so much, even more than the original elder blue did.

To me, you are an elder blue."

"I appreciate that Rainbow Steve...

My time is up...

Will you accept me?
To be absorbed by you?"

"Nightmare steve will pay for this...

The sky looked the same as it did back  then.

When he thought he had given up it all. His energy, his form, his life.

But instead, one was absorbed. One was destroyed. One was saved.

Another being had chosen to save him.
And save him that being did.

They gave him a new form. A new chance.

Had set him off to the same world. Where, he got to watch over him. Help him defeat Nightmare, Dark... the new villains that had appeared...
