In the weeks that followed, Alaric and the villagers worked tirelessly. They implemented the healer's advice, creating a sense of community that reinforced their collective strength. Alaric organized gatherings to share stories and wisdom, allowing the villagers to express their fears and hopes.

However, whispers of unrest began to circulate. Some villagers still clung to the idea that the plague was a curse, and a faction began to form, led by a man named Garrick, who sought to abandon their efforts and escape to the mountains.

"Why are we wasting our time?" Garrick argued during a heated discussion in the square. "We should leave this cursed land and start anew elsewhere. No one is safe here!"

Alaric stepped forward, anger and determination coursing through him. "Running away won't solve our problems, Garrick! We have a chance to fight this, to reclaim our lives, but we need to do it together."

Garrick sneered. "Together? Look around you! People are still getting sick. The plague hasn't gone away, and it won't! You're leading us to our doom."

The villagers exchanged uneasy glances, the seed of doubt taking root in their hearts. Alaric felt a pang of fear—what if the growing discontent fractured their unity?

As the days turned into weeks, the tension in Eldergrove continued to rise. More villagers began to support Garrick's idea of leaving, convinced that staying would only bring further suffering.

Alaric and Melinda knew they had to act before it was too late. They devised a plan to rally the villagers, to showcase the strength they had built together and the importance of standing united.
