Minhyuk walked out to take a walk and catch a little bit of evening air before he had to get back to work, maybe to take his mind off of some things. He put his hands in his jeans' pockets and took a stroll-Which was quickly interrupted. A few seconds away from the HQ's gate, he got pinned against a wall by none other than Kim Yookwon.
"Just fucking hear me out, damn it." Yookwon, exasperated, punched the wall an inch away from Minhyuk's face. But the latter didn't even flinch.
"What should I hear, that you're a traitor? That you used me for information?" Minhyuk's eyes were half-lidded from tiredness, and his eyebrows were slightly furrowed. "Be grateful I didn't shoot you long ago."
"That's because you love me." Yookwon let his arms fall back on his sides, the angry expression that was once on his face switched to a sad smile. "Don't you? You never trusted me enough. Just do so for once, give me one chance to explain myself. Please."
Minhyuk was about to protest, but what could he say? His ex-boyfriend was right. Usually, he would kill off a traitor without thinking twice. He sighed and let his head rest on the wall he was leaning on. "Fuck it... You have a few minutes. Tell me what you have to tell me."
Yookwon grinned. "Don't you disappear this time."
"By the way, can I ask you something?" Hongjoong played with the string of his hoodie. San tilted his head to the right.
"Just ask the question right away, dumbass. What do you want?" The younger rolled his eyes. Hongjoong rolled his eyes back in a mimicking way which made San pout for a second.
"How did you know that you liked Wooyoung? Like, in a romantic kind of way." The contract killer blurted out after a few seconds of silence.
San rose an eyebrow. That's a weird ass question coming from Hongjoong but alright? "Well... I just knew I guess. It comes naturally... I thought he was cute and he knew how to dress. Nothing more than that. It's when we started talking and getting to know each other that I developed solid feelings. By then, you just know."
"Oh..."
"If your heart beats faster around that person, if you can't get them off your mind for a single day, if you make decisions based on what they'd think or do, if your stomach does "the thing" as people say... Then yeah, you like 'em." San studied Hongjoong's expression.
"Damn. Write a romance novel." Hongjoong's eyes rolled.
"But really, you're asking this about Seonghwa, right?" San's eyebrows furrowed for a second as he was thinking. "Just be careful. Y'know, he's from Yuju. You don't know what these fuckers could do."
"I could just shoot him in that case."
"The whole reason why you two know each other is because you were supposed to kill him but you didn't. What makes you think you can do it now when you're almost sure about your feelings? Huh?!"
"You-" Sigh...
Hongjoong walked through the gates of his university, while sweeping his bangs to the sides. Suddenly, he spotted Seonghwa, who was walking and turning around 360 every five seconds like a psych ward patient.
"....What the fuck is he doing?" Hongjoong sighed and before he knew it, he was walking up to him.
"Ah, Hongjoong. Yo." Seonghwa grinned as if nothing happened. The shorter raised up his arm and slapped his forehead.
"What's up? You look insane."
"Damn, you're worried about me?! No way." Seonghwa gasped and slapped a hand over his mouth a bit overdramatically. He then clenched his heart and took Hongjoong's hand off his forehead to place his own. Hongjoong fought the urge to sigh for the nth time this hour. "Can't believe you're finally caring about me the way I care about you... This is a moment in history..."
