You escaped without being seen by pure luck. You hid in the shadows as you walked... and walked. Until your feet rubbed raw. It felt like you were dying.
your lips rip like paper from the lack of water. Your body grows weak in fear of being killed by those people who killed your clan. are they behind you? are they watching you right now? Do they know you're alive? Will they hunt you down? it's been 2 weeks and you've been surviving off of pure luck.
..Luck. You really hate that word. It always appears to you when it feels like the world is falling apart around you. the random berries you ate didn't kill you, you keep running low on water, you sleep every 3 days because you keep feeling like your getting closer to anything, anything at all. but nothing, just surrounded by trees and clumps of open land. what if you're just going in circles? Then, will you die and become fertilizer for the soil? will you finally be useful? it sickens you that you left all alone, the soul survivor. how could you leave all of them to die? why did you allow them to be killed? you could've saved some of them. why didn't you? Brought them with you, saved at least someone.
You suddenly stop walking. your breathing is getting thicker and you don't know what to do. A hand on your chest and another on your knee. You cough and blood falls from your mouth. You look at the splatter without much emotion. it's so little compared to theirs.. not even worth blinking about.
this is it. the only survivor of the god clan, and yet here you are dying from berries. Has your luck reached its limit? Only when you confront it, does it fight back. no morals ...not even chance has morals.
you feel the muscles in your legs tense up and your lasting strength get sucked from your body. your mentality fails as well and you cannot keep fighting your physical malnourishment anymore. you fall straight forward and collapse sprawled out.
On a dirt and leafy path, tears pricking at your eyes and your fingers clawing at the ground.
"I'm almost there.." you groan to yourself, "I can feel it." You tug at the floor trying to pulling yourself up. expectedly, your arms collapse from lack of water, nutrition and fight.
it doesn't matter. you already died when everything you've ever known died too.
.
.
you woke up to the sudden loud noise of a voice. ..a ...voice? ..
..a voice..!
"Hello? Are you dead?" Your eyes immediately shoot open. Fear rushed through your hundreds of bones, taking over your mind and body. The fear inside you went to put your hands on the ground but then, reality clicked with you'd found you've been bound up around your arms and your legs. You immediately panic, looking around quickly and anxiously trying to see where you are. they've relocated you... not that you even knew where you were in the first place. Where are you in general? Who are here, who are they? Are they... going to kill you..?
your body unconsciously shakes, while sweat drips from your chin. your heart beat thumps in your ears.
"Please..." your lips quiver, then you shout quite abruptly, "don't come any closer!." you use your feet to scoot away before your back meets a hard, painful stop. Your feet dig piles in the dirt as your back is up against a tree, hoping to move farther back.
you tried to hide your obvious frightened face, replacing it with a decoy of Feist. But, the pure fear that reflected in your eyes was very noticeable and telling. For a second ..you took one valuable second to look at those around you. a boy, short with yellow hair and blue eyes. His clothes consist of a blinding orange, his shoes a bright blue that stay glued to the floor, maybe in a state of shock ..maybe. He looks concerned, his movements hesitant and stiff.. his face plastered with surprise and worry as his eyes try desperately to read your own. I won't let them.
