Nextbots are 2D png. creatures that roam the maps in Evade and protect the rare artifacts in each map.
They often take the form of memes and play a loud continuous cycle of noises/music that can warn you when a Nextbot is near.
The lights also flicker when one is near.
Each "round" lasts three minutes and if you survive that long you are rewarded with the artifact if you can get to it first.
Occasionally there are "special rounds" where something different happens. The events can range from a speed increase of both Nextbots and Evaders to multiple or rare Nextbots.
The creation of Nextbots is believed to be from a lab accident at Elysium Corporation.
Nextbots can die from weapons or vehicles
It is unknown if Nextbots can breed/multiply or die of natural causes like sickness or old age.
When caught by a Nextbot you will be "Down". You have about a minute to be revived before you die.
Another way you can die from a nextbot is being downed three times. On the third time being down you will just die. It is unknown why that is the case.
