Pure Bloodlust

Chapter 1

I was strolling at the garden behind my house. Looking at the night skies where the wind is perfectly brizzy, the moon and stars are shinning. The smell of roses around me just so nice and perfectly following the wind blow. Sitting at the near bench and sat down while looking around. Life is perfect until you are the most special human being in this planet. My father used to called me that I am special then other kids. I did not even getting a chance to go kindergarden when I was still a kid because of my looks. Father used to say that young kids shouldn't see how special you are. 

So until then I was homeschooled until I come to the age where I can go to college. A months ago I sat in the living room with my father with a news I have been waiting "You are a smart kid my child, however I'm letting you go to college and make friends around your age" I smiled but before I even get a chance to interrupt him, he continues with "but in one condition" I looked at him seriously and said "What condition?" my father closed his tablet and take off his glasses then looked at me.

"I am going to hired a bodyguard for you to keep you safe" I was shocked and sat closer to him. "but father, I am a grown up now why must have bodyguard to keep me safe?" he looked at me with a sighed. "We don't know how people are at your college. I just need my daughter to be safe without I have to be there. Please Reinee" I looked away and just nodded. There goes my youth year. I sighed and looked at him again. "Okay fine. So who is the lucky bodyguard that will keep me safe?" my father was looking at me and looked at his tablet. "I am still looking a perfect references to hired, in a meantime Lucas will keep an eye on you." I looked at him in shocked and stand up.

"Lucas!?" 

"I know what you are thinking but he is the only one that I can rely on, my child. He got back from his training in the army so until then I will find you a bodyguard." I looked at my father in disbelief. "I don't even want to see Lucas near me so if you decided to let him keep an eye on me while your stupid condition still in progress. Make sure he is not anywhere close to me." I leave the sofa and ran upstairs to my room. I shut the door behind me and growled on how angry I am towards my father. "This is unbelievable, how can he do this. Am I not safe enough to him? Why Lucas out of many people?" I thought about what my father just said.

A few years ago when Lucas and I are still together, we had gone through a lot of dates together before he went to his military training. We both love each other and there was no going on with our relationships life. Till that one day I caught him cheating behind my back. It was at the nightclub the day before he went for his training. They were having a party for Lucas and I was there as well. I saw things where I should have not seen it coming. He was dancing and holding another girl and kiss that girl on the cheek. I came up to him and pushed him away from the girl he danced with. I slapped him right in the face "We are over" and just leave the scene.

After getting flashback from the past, I sighed and hoping that my father will hired one bodyguard as soon as possible so I don't need to face Lucas anymore. I went to my balcony and looked at the skies. "How I wish I can stand a bit closer to the moon" I looked at the moon and gave a faded smile. I start thinking of how people in college will react when they see me. My right eye are blue as the blue moon shine in the skies and my left eye are brown like my hair that strained silk through the wind blows. Kids usually said I have superpowers or some kids mom said I was having some kind of illness that their kids shouldn't stand closer to me. I cannot wait to get to college and finally makes new friends.

I woke up with my father who came into my room and woke me up. "My child. I am about to go to the office for awhile, will you be okay?" I nodded. "Of course father" My father tapped me on top of my head and was about to leave then he turned around looking at me. "My dear Reinee, this evening dress up nicely. There is someone I like to introduced you with" I nodded and my father turned away shut the door behind him. "Dress up nicely?" I looked at my closet with the laziness in my eyes. I sat up on the edge of the bed and stretching my arms wide. I walked to the bathroom door and washed myself up.

While I was getting ready, I heard the entrance door bell and I heard my father called me from downstairs. "Reinee ! Guest have arrived come down, my child" I looked at the mirror for the last time and then I went ran downstairs. When I was going downstairs where my father and the guest was I completely froze looking at the person who was beside my father. A tall young man with hair slick back, a pale skin with sharps jawline where you slices an apple with and he had a very wide shoulder. He is ripped. I walked down slowly towards my father and stopped. "My dear, I want you to meet Xavier. Your personal bodyguard." I was shocked and looked at father. Was he even serious?

"Xavier, this is my daughter Reinee. Your job is to keep her safe from any harm. I saw your references are excellent. You may start tomorrow for now let us stay for dinner, yes?" Xavier looked at my father and nodded. "Yes Mr. Holston" my father was already looking at me and nudged me on the shoulder while clearing his throat. "Reinee, what are you going to say when you see our guest for the first time?" I was frozen and looked at my father then get back to him. "It is a pleasure to meet you Xavier" I smiled and he looked at me with that serious face of him. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss Reinee" he looked at me and nodded. "Right this way Xavier" my father took him to the dining area and I followed the both of them from behind. 

That was how I met Xavier and he became my bodyguard. I opened my eyes and was surprised seeing Xavier leaning behind me too close to my face. I screamed in surprise and he had that no emotion faces. "Why are you here Xavier?" I looked away not daring to look at him with how red I am. "I promise your father to keep an eye on you closer" I settle my dress and sat nicely. "It is not I'm going to run away plus it is already night time. Aren't you supposed to go and sleep or something rather than keep an eye on me?" He sighed and looked at me. "Miss Reinee, it is my duty to keep you safe. I am not going to sleep peacefully if you are still awake and strolling down at the garden at night." I rolled my eyes and stand up from the bench. "Fine. I'm going now. You can have your rest." I walked back to the house while he followed me from behind. While I was walking up the stairs, I stopped before we separated since his room was across the hall way, I immediately said "Good night Xavier, I'm sorry for troubling you." looking down at my feet. I heard him sighed and said "Good night Miss Reinee" he turned around and I did too. About to go to our room and I immediately heard him saying "Trouble me is not the least thing I am mad about but your safety when is going wrong, what troubles me the most" He closed the door from his bedroom door and I smiled. 

As usually I go to my reading desk and reading the unfinished book I read. I looked at the window and thought about what Xavier said. I smiled until my smiled faded hearing my phone started to rang. I looked at the phone screen and saw who was calling. It was Lucas. I answered the called "What is it that you want at this late of night, don't you know how to read the clock?" I heard him sighed and listening to his respond. "Let's meet tomorrow at your one favorite cafe in town. 11am I'll pick you up" I scoffed. "There is no need to pick me up, I will let my bodyguard drive me there." I end the called and slammed myself on the bed. What does he want? I look at my phone and look at the time. "I need to sleep" I moved to the side of the bed and cover myself with a cozy blanket. I closed my eyes and then I went to sleep.
