She is standing infront of him with fear and dread visible on her once doe and twinkling eyes.He looked at her with raged and grimaced expression as if he's ready to throw some fists at her, clenching his fist and gritting his teeth. He screamed at her "GET OUT"
she flinched and sprinted out of the room and then out of the house to a nearby play ground park they used to go for night walks, heaving, she sat on a bench.
He stood still in the room for few minutes, looking at the shattered glass pieces. He blinked constantly as if he came out from some dream and he looked around, not finding his wife, he ran out of the house not caring about the blood spilling out of his foot from the stabbed wound by the broken shard of glass.
He looked around the house and their garden, leaving signs of blooded foot everywhere he goes. He ran out of the house realising where she must be and he ran to the play ground park. He saw her sitting on the bench, looking down at her bare feet. He sighed in relief and made his way towards her.
She flinched, startled by the sudden appearance of her husband as he knelt down beside her feet. His heart shattered into pieces as the glass was shattered on the floor back in his room, seeing her flinch when he held her hands, her tear filled eyes and the anticipated expression on her features.
"I- I'm sorry, jaana. I blacked out, I didn't know what was happening around me" he said stuttering holding a hurtful feeling in his eyes and hatred for himself that he was the reason of her tears.
"It's fine, I know that. It was my fault." She said trying to smile as her expressions finally converted into relief. This is man she recognised and it wasn't the man whom she saw back in their room who screamed at her.
He shook her head, anger and self-hatred filled in his eyes for himself. "Did I- did I hurt you?" Asked the male, afraid to know the answer, but his eyes looked at her whole body to find and wound and settled on her wrists and neck, red and greenish blue marks on the porcelain skin.
His faces turned to grimaces. She noticed it and said,"No, it's fine. I should have known. It was my fault."
"I'm so sorry, Jaan. That wasn't me. I would never do anything like this to you."
"I know, you wouldn't. And I know that wasn't you."
"What happened?"
"Nothing happened, just... forget it. I ran away before something worse could happen. I'm sorry for leaving you there alone. But I was scared... That the distance i felt back then looking at your eyes would become reality, if I'd stay there for longer. So I ran out." She said the tears finally escaping her doe eyes and fell on her cheek but she still smiled at the end of her sentence that she ran out before something worse could happen to her, to him and their relationship.
"You did well, love. You should have done that or may be you could have slapped or stopped me when I touched you."
She shook her head chuckling," No. Believe me i would have done that if it'd help." He laughed finally nodding his head. She loved that sound and the wide smile on his face. Of course, she knows him well. No one knew him better than her.
