The following days after the weekend getaway were a whirlwind of emotions for Olivia. The conversations she had with both Nate and Blair lingered in her mind, echoing like a distant drumbeat. While the acknowledgment of their feelings brought a sense of relief, it also weighed heavily on her heart. She felt torn between her blossoming relationship with Nate and her unwavering loyalty to Blair.

At school, Olivia's mind was often elsewhere, drifting as she tried to focus on her classes. Her friends noticed her distracted demeanor, but the chatter and laughter around her felt muted. Even Blair, who sat next to her in their history class, shot her concerned glances.

"Liv, are you okay?" Blair whispered during a particularly dull lecture, the teacher's voice droning on in the background.

"Yeah, just... thinking," Olivia replied, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"You know you can talk to me, right?" Blair pressed, her tone gentle but insistent.

"I know. I appreciate that," Olivia said, her heart sinking. "It's just... complicated."

After school, Olivia found herself wandering around the small boutiques on Madison Avenue, searching for a distraction. The vibrant colors and chic displays did little to lift her spirits. Instead, she felt more isolated, each passing moment intensifying her guilt.

That evening, as she returned home, she spotted Nate waiting for her outside Blair's townhouse. He leaned against the wall, casual yet attentive, a smile breaking through her dark thoughts.

"Hey, princess," he said, his voice light, but Olivia could see the concern in his eyes.

"Hey," she replied, her heart fluttering at the nickname. She wanted to lean into his warmth, but guilt tugged at her, pulling her back.

"Can we talk?" Nate asked, his expression turning serious.

"Sure," Olivia said, glancing around to ensure they wouldn't be overheard. They stepped into a quiet corner of the garden, the soft glow of the twilight casting a warm light around them.

Nate's gaze locked onto hers, searching for the right words. "I've been thinking about everything that happened this weekend," he began. "And I know it's not easy for you."

"Easy is the last thing it feels like," Olivia admitted, feeling the weight of her emotions crashing down on her. "I feel guilty for wanting you when I know how much Blair has been through."

Nate took a step closer, his voice soothing. "You don't have to feel guilty for wanting to be happy, Liv. I care about you, and you deserve to follow your heart."

"But what about Blair?" Olivia asked, her brow furrowing. "I don't want to hurt her. She's been my support through everything, and now..."

"Now you're starting to find your own happiness," Nate interjected gently. "It doesn't diminish your friendship with her. It's okay to want something for yourself."

"I know, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm being selfish," Olivia confessed, frustration evident in her tone. "What if she ends up feeling betrayed?"

Nate reached out, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "You're not being selfish for wanting love. Blair understands more than you think. She just wants you to be honest with her and with yourself."

"What if it's not that simple?" Olivia said, her voice barely above a whisper. "What if I ruin everything?"

"You won't," Nate assured her, his gaze steady and unwavering. "Just be open with Blair. You two have a strong bond. If anyone can understand, it's her. And I'll be here for you, no matter what."

Olivia took a deep breath, feeling the warmth of his words seep into her resolve. "You really think she'll understand?"

"I do," Nate replied, a soft smile crossing his lips. "And I know you're both stronger than any of this."

As she looked into Nate's eyes, Olivia felt the weight of her guilt begin to lift, even if just a little. She realized that hiding her feelings wouldn't solve anything; it would only lead to more complications and heartache. "Thank you, Nate. I needed to hear that."

"Anytime," he said, his voice gentle yet firm. "You deserve to be happy, Liv. So, what do you say we take this one step at a time? Start by being honest with Blair."

With newfound determination, Olivia nodded. "You're right. I owe it to both of you to be honest about how I feel."

Nate's smile widened, and he took a step back, allowing her some space. "Good. And remember, I'm here for you, no matter what happens."

As they returned to the townhouse, Olivia felt a mix of anxiety and hope swirling within her. She knew that the conversation she needed to have with Blair wouldn't be easy, but it was a necessary step forward.

That evening, as she sat in her room, the weight of anticipation settled heavily on her shoulders. She had to be brave, not just for herself but for the friendship that meant everything to her.

The next day at school, Olivia resolved to talk to Blair, her heart pounding at the thought of opening up about her feelings for Nate. The day passed in a blur, and as they found a quiet spot in the library after classes, she knew it was time.

"Blair, can we talk?" Olivia said, her voice steady yet tinged with nervousness.

"Of course. What's on your mind?" Blair replied, her expression attentive.

Taking a deep breath, Olivia gathered her courage. "I need to be honest with you about something... about Nate."

As she began to speak, she felt a wave of determination wash over her. No matter the outcome, she was ready to face whatever came next, armed with the support of the people who mattered most.
