Mingyu opened the door to his apartment as quietly as possible hoping his mother wasn't awake, but it seemed luck wasn't on his side. His mother was sitting on the couch with a bottle of wine in her hand while the other one held a picture.
Mingyu very well knew who's picture that was. It was his fathers. The father that had left him and his family for a different women five years ago. It has been awhile since that incident but his mother hangs on to it as if it was yesterday. She had grown a rapid hatred towards Mingyu and Woonhak, being only four at that time, relatively has grown up without actual parents. Since then his mother has stopped talking to them and when she does - every once in a while - it is full of hatred and disgust towards the two.
Mingyu had stepped inside trying to sneak past his mother who looked awfully drunk at the moment. She kept blabbering nonsense that Mingyu couldn't decipher at all and was quite glad of that. It meant she wouldn't understand that he was back.
He creeped down the hallway making sure he couldn't be heard and took out a key from a pocket, unlocking the door and locking it again once he got inside. Woonhak was sleeping on the bed, hugging his big, fluffy bunny that Mingyu had got him three years ago on his birthday.
He was glad Woonhak was becoming friends with the other twelve and Eunchae. He felt like he was finally growing up and Mingyu would always be sad about that but that's how life was.
He got changed and took out a blanket from the wardrobe and layed it on the floor before laying on top of it. He put his hands under his head as he looked up at the ceiling thinking about the bills that had to be payed by next week.
Yes, he worked but how much can a high-schooler work with school, homework and studying on their back? It was a lot but your was what he was willing to do if that was what was going to give Woonhak the better future.
He didn't want Woonhak to have the same childhood as him, who lulled himself to sleep while covering his ears to not hear the arguments going on between his parents. He really didn't want Woonhak not having proper parents having an affect on him, he didn't want Woonhak to turn out like him. He wanted to be the older brother that was a mother and father figure for Woonhak, so that he could experience it all. He wanted to take him to a amusement park, buy him all of his favourite toys he sees in the stores and wants to but and all the sweets in the world.
That's what Mingyu wanted.
And that's what he was going to do.
