Scourge offered the rolled up piece of paper again as he wi ped his nose. “Scourge i’m–”The door opened and I quickly shut my mouth to see who had entered. The whole class turned to look at the person standing in the doorway because they had slammed the door so hard. It was the black hedgehog from before. He scanned the classroom with his ruby eyes, then his gaze fell on me for a few seconds before he turned to the teacher. Mr. F stopped mid stroke, the ink of the marker pooling on the whiteboard, as he looked at Shadow. He sighed before capping the maker once again and turned his body, and attention, towards shadow.
“How may I help you young man?” Mr F finally asked after a few seconds of painful silence. “Why are you here?”
“I’m a new transfer student and this is my homeroom. I Just recently transferred to this school so some changes are still in the process of being changed. They said I would be on your attendance sheet by the end of the week. I'll need a syllabus so I can get the supplies as soon as possible. Where may I take my seat?” Shadow looked at me as he said that last part.
To say that I was surprised was an understatement, I was absolutely flabbergasted by the discovery that the guy I picked a fight with would be in my homeroom classroom. I’m going to get jumped or something after class. This is going to really happen because not only do I have scourge constantly harassing and bullying me but I now have another hedgehog that hates me and will probably make my life a living hell after what happened in the hallway this morning. Mr. F said that he could pick any of the empty seats so I was relieved that I wouldn't have to be forced to sit next to him because I had another empty seat next to me, but that relife was soon short lived.
Shadow started walking towards me and took the empty seat right next to me. “I think i’ll just take this seat right here”
Mr. F went back to his lesson once again, turning his attention back to the board and continued writing. Shadow waited for the excitement of his arrival to calm down and the other students to turn their heads around, facing Mr. F. He then finally looked at me and let his respectful facade fall. The eyes that bore into me were feral and angry. They shimmered with hidden anger and his pupils shrunk into slits. Every fiber in my body demanded that I submit to him and apologize, but my stupid mouth was faster than my brain.
“You think a look is going to make me run home to my mommy? Please. I’m more scared of what's in my drain than those puppy eyes you're giving me. I’m not going to stroke your fragile ego by pretending to be even slightly scared so don’t get your hopes up.” I said with an eye roll as I turned my attention away from him to my paper.
I didn’t dare look to see his reaction to know that he was pissed. I could feel the heat practically radiating off of him. I’m definitely screwed. I just pissed off a guy that was not only as fast as me but stronger than I could ever dream to be. I was so invested in my thoughts I didn't realize that Scourge and Shadow made eye contact. I looked over my shoulder to see that Scourge looked mildly disturbed as he started at Shadow. He turned his attention to me with a frown on his face.
“You know this emo?” Scourge practically spat.
Shadow replied with. “Are you friends with this crackhead?”
Tension started to build between the two of them.
“No and No. I don’t know him. I just got in a fight with him this morning before class.” I paused to look at Shadow. “To answer the second question, I'm not associated with him. I don’t do drugs, let alone weed. We're not friends. He’s just mildly annoying and won’t leave me alone”
Scourge looked at me offended as I tried to explain to the darker hedgehog that I was not associating myself with Scourge in a friendly way. The darker hedgehog looked annoyed as I referred to him as a random guy I met in the hallway. They were both upset with me, leaving me somewhat confused because I'm rivals with one of them and I tried to pick a fight with the other. I just gave up on trying to understand and went back to my notes. They continued to stare at each other for the rest of class, it looked as if they were sizing up one another.
Class seemed to go at a snail's pace. I sit there slumped over my desk between two guys that I don't like. Mr. F’s words seemed to blur together as he approached the end of his boring math lecture. I only needed the first part anyway, that was the most important, the stuff that he was currently going over was just giving examples and helping out the kids who didn't understand the stuff he was covering today. I sigh as I rest my head on my notebook as I watch the clock tick, tick, tick. The red hand on the clock rotated around the face agonizingly slow.
I startled from my desk as the bell rang loudly. Finally, I hurriedly shoved my notebook into my backpack and haphazardly zipped it the majority of the way closed. I was about to get out of my desk, but I was trapped as Shadow or Scourge decided to not move from their spot.
“The bell rang.” I said hurriedly into the air. “I need to get to my next class.”
Scourge took this as a challenge and leaned back in his chair, stretching out his legs and blocking the space to leave. “Sorry blue but I feel nice and comfy here.”
I looked towards Shadow hoping to see if he would move from his spot and let me through. “I’m waiting for the teacher to give me the syllabus, then i'll move”
I made an annoyed noise as I was trapped between two immovable objects. I rolled my eyes before I set my backpack on my desk and turned towards Scourge. He gave me another toothy grin, but that grin was soon wiped off his face as I crawled onto his lap. He looked at me shocked as I straddled him. I then proceeded to slip off his lap and land on the other side of the desk. I flipped him the bird as I grabbed my backpack and walked out of the classroom. I didn't look back to see his expression, instead walked to my next class with a kick in my step.
