Hey y'all, I will be off to camp first thing in the morning, and won't be able to update until I'm back on Sunday. So here is a consolation chapter for you, of something I'd love to do, but don't have the talent to do, lol. Love to you, all my faithful readers!! ~The Fanvergent

"Courtney!" I shout to Luke's wife, out of the dressing room in the van.
I wait a minuet or so.
"COOOOURTNEEEEY!" I yell louder. We were on our way to Ohio for a County Fair, which was supposed to be fun, but I was in serious trouble.
Courtney came running up, toting little Phoenix on her hip, her face creased with worry. "What's wrong?!?" She asked. I open the door wider and motioning for her to come in. She looks me up and down, in my pajama bottoms and a black camisole. "What's wrong?" she asked again, sounding a bit exasperated.
"Sorry for yelling, but you didn't hear me the first time. Okay, here's the deal." I hurriedly whisper. "I forgot to get my laundry done and now I have nothing left to wear except for these jeans and this cami!! The jeans, well, I can do that, but I can't go out there wearing just a cami, and besides, one of the straps is busted!" I explain as I hike up the side of my cami that's busted. "Do you have something I could borrow?"
"Sorry." She shakes her head. "I'm behind too, and we're not quite the same size. But I can fix the broken strap with a safety pin." (Which she did.)
But I still groaned. "Are you sure there's nothing I could wear?" She nodded. "Well, then I guess I'll grab a coat or something..."
"Yes, a coat... " Courtney sat, seemingly lost in thought. Then she snapper her fingers. "A-ha!!! Wait!! You wait right here!" She left me alone, then came back with a button up black vest. "Here, put this on." I did, and because of my "figure", it looked okay.
"Where did you get this?" I asked as I tucked it in.
She waved a hand dismissively. "It's one of Joel's. He's the shorter than Luke, so I grabbed on of his, he won't need it."
I look at myself in the mirror. "Yeah, but now it looks like I'm trying to go all "emo" or something, with the black and the jeans and my converse."
Courtney laughed. "Well, that I can work with!" She left again and came back a few minutes later with her makeup bag.
but as she sat me down on a stool, facing away from the mirror, I protested, "Oh, no, no makeup! I hate the stuff, and I helpless with it!"
"Which is why I'm going to do it! Now hold still!" She tilted my head and grabbed a brush.
Five minutes later I stepped out for breakfast, and got stunned looks from everyone. I smiled shyly. Courtney had said I could look 18 or older. She had done a beautiful smoky eye (more like dark, black, thick, etc.), dark cherry red lipstick, accented my cheek bones, and then styled my hair all across my face with about a gallon of hair spray.
"Whatcha think?" Courtney asked the group, upon which everyone voiced amazed ejaculations of how beautiful I looked. I looked down at the ground and smiled, I hadn't felt so nice since my sister did my hair and make up for my Black Widow Halloween costume a few years ago. We walked over to the table and grabbed some breakfast, when I noticed Luke studying me.
"Hmm..." he tapped his chin. "The whole ensemble looks kind of dark though."
"On come on Luke!" Courtney interjected. "What girl hasn't wanted to go all dark and scary once in her life?" She smiled at me. I smiled back gratefully.
"I have a question, though." Joel paused. "Where did you get that vest? Because," he looked suspiciously at Courtney and I, "it looks very familiar."
Courtney and I both broke into giggles. "Sorry." I squeaked, "I'll take it off if you'd like."
"Nonsense." Moriah said, "I get the feeling it's needed more here than in your drawer, Joel David Smallbone." She smiled at me. I smiled back gratefully.
Joel raised his hand in the air with a look of mock surprise on his face. "Hey, I never said she couldn't wear it! I just asked where she got it! And besides," he said smiling at me, "it looks very nice." He kept smiling at me, and I think I might have blushed and died a little bit. Great job Hormones, I thought.
But I shrugged and smiled. "Thanks for letting me "borrow" it."
"It's my pleasure."
X) Fun chapter for me, at least!! If you liked it, don't forget to leave a comment, or vote for it!
