The grounds of Hogwarts had never looked more surreal than they did tonight. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silvery light over the Forbidden Forest and the Black Lake, where the gentle ripples of water sparkled like stardust. The night was still, save for the soft rustling of leaves, and yet, it felt like the air was alive with magic.

Y/N wandered through the grass, their footsteps quiet, lost in thought. They had always been grounded, practical—someone who preferred the solid, predictable nature of life. But recently, things had been different. Ever since Luna Lovegood had entered their life, nothing had felt predictable or ordinary.

They didn't understand her, not really. Luna was a mystery—an ethereal, whimsical force of nature who floated through the world like she belonged to another dimension. She talked of things Y/N had never heard of—creatures with strange names, dreams with deeper meanings—and while Y/N didn't always follow along, there was something about Luna that drew them in. Something warm and captivating.

Y/N sighed, running a hand through their hair as they walked closer to the edge of the lake. They had expected a quiet night, a moment alone to clear their head. But then, as if summoned by the very moonlight itself, Luna appeared.

She was sitting by the shore, her legs stretched out in front of her, bare feet touching the cool grass. Her long, wavy hair seemed to glow in the moonlight, as if it were woven from the stars themselves. She was humming softly, her voice blending with the night air, creating a melody that was as strange and beautiful as she was.

Y/N froze for a moment, their heart skipping a beat. Luna hadn't noticed them yet—her eyes were closed, her face turned toward the sky, like she was communing with the moon. She looked so peaceful, so otherworldly, that for a brief second, Y/N wondered if she was even real.

But then Luna opened her eyes, as if sensing their presence, and turned her head to look at them. A small, dreamy smile tugged at her lips.

"Y/N," she said softly, her voice floating through the air like a gentle breeze. "I was wondering when you'd arrive."

Y/N blinked, surprised. "You were waiting for me?"

Luna nodded, patting the grass beside her. "Of course. I had a feeling you'd be here tonight."

Y/N hesitated for a moment before walking over and sitting down next to her. There was something comforting about Luna's presence, even if it was often strange and unpredictable. She had a way of making Y/N feel at ease, even when they didn't understand half the things she said.

"What are you doing out here?" Y/N asked, their voice quieter now, as if they didn't want to disturb the serene moment.

Luna shrugged, her eyes flickering back to the moon. "Just thinking. The moon's been trying to tell me something all evening, but I haven't quite figured it out yet."
