"B-Bellamy." Clarke cried.
"I'm here, Princess. It's okay." Bellamy told her.
"Bellamy, I'll stay." Clarke manger through her tears. "I-I want to stay."
Clarke wasn't sure why Bellamy wanted her to stay. She could only guess. Maybe he wanted her to stay because she reminded him of his sister, or it could've been because he just didn't want to be alone. It was a possibly that he wanted to help her, and maybe he felt like if her helped her he would be redeemed for all the terrible things he did. But, in that moment Clarke didn't care why he wanted her to stay, because for some strange reason she didn't want to leave.
She felt safer with him. Even if he was wanted by the police, she felt safer with him, safer than she ever did with anyone else. She felt protected by him, but maybe she felt that way because she was. She was safer with him, she was protected.
"I'll keep you safe." Bellamy promised, and it seemed as if he had read her mind. "I won't let your father find you, and he'll never be able to hurt you."
Clarke did her best to hold in the tears that came to her eyes, but she couldn't stop them.
"Thank you." Clarke's voice was quiet and shaky.
Bellamy slowly pulled away from her, and once he did he looked down at her. Bellamy slowly brought his hands to her face. Her jaw line rested in the palm of his hands, and Bellamy's thumbs sat in her cheeks. He slowly ran his thumbs back a forth, cleaning the tears off her face.
Clarke closed her eyes, preventing anymore tears from escaping her eyes. "I'm so scared." Clarke quietly admitted.
"Don't be." Bellamy told her, as soothing as possible. "I'll keep you safe."
Clarke opened her eyes, and no more tears escaped them. "Why are you being so nice to me?"
Bellamy studied her eyes as he whispered. "I'm running, too." He paused and his eyebrows scrunched together as he said. "Of course you already know that."
Clarke laughed, slightly and then she smiled.
"Clarke, I want to help you." Bellamy told her. "But, if I do...I can't promise anything."
Clarke nodded, showing that she understood.
"I need you to understand that if you do stay with me, I'll keep you safe, but you need to allow me to teach you how to protect yourself."
"Protect myself?"
"Yes." Bellamy nodded. "I would teach you stuff like ... hand to hand and how to use weapons."
Clarke raised an eyebrow than shook her head. "No, no way. I'm not learning any of that stuff, I am not a violent person."
"Clarke, it's purely self defense." Bellamy assured her.
"Who do I need to defend myself from? My father?" Clarke shook her head once again. "I don't need to use weapons on my father." Clarke spit the word weapons out of her mouth like it was venom. "You said it yourself, he won't find me."
"No, Clarke. The self defense isn't going to be used on your father."
"Than who am I using the self defense on?" Clarke asked him.
"Trust me, if you hang around me, you'll just need to know how to do those kinds of things."
A lightbulb seemed to switch on inside her head.
"If you hang around me, you'll need to know how to do those kinds of things."
"On cops?!" Clarke blurted out.
Bellamy only fell silent.
"No way." Clarke picked her bag back up. "I'm leaving. I can't believe I even considered staying here for a second!" Clarke stepped towards the door, and Bellamy stepped in her way.
"Clarke." Bellamy didn't know what to say. What would make her want to stay?
"Move out of my way, Bellamy." Clarke ordered.
"Clarke, what do I have to do to make you stay?" Bellamy questioned.
"I don't want to stay! I don't want to be any where near you!" Clarke stopped yelling calmly continued. "Please, let me leave."
Bellamy knew he couldn't hold her captive, he couldn't force Clarke to stay. So, much to Clarke's surprised, he stepped out of her way. Slowly, Clarke walk passed him, not even looking at him as she reached for the door nob. She opened the door and walked out into the hallway.
"Goodbye, Clarke." Bellamy caused her to turn around.
"Goodbye, Da-Bellamy."
Bellamy priced his lips together and glanced down at the ground then looked back up at Clarke.
"Goodbye, Bellamy." Clarke repeated, and then turned her back to him, with that she walked away. Clarke refused to let herself turn back, she didn't want to look back to him for some reason she wanted to stay.
Bellamy watched Clarke as she walked away from him, once she turned to corner and he no longer could see her, he closed the door.
Clarke walked out into the lobby and then without allowing herself to look back, she walked right out of the hotel.
Author's Note: I know what you're thinking: She's going to go back, right? Or Is Bellamy going after her? Or maybe even screw this book, I'm done with it. My response to all of them, you have to keep reading!
