Noah and the rest of the group will be arriving soon, and Matteo and Aurora are buzzing with excitement. They have been asking me all morning if they can come to the villa to meet the kids from Noah's friends' group and play with them. Now, we are getting their bags ready with swimsuits, towels, and a couple of games they want to bring.
"Do you think they'll like us?" Aurora asks, her big eyes filled with anticipation as she clutches her favorite stuffed animal.
"Of course, they will," I assure her with a smile, zipping up her bag. "Henry, Isaac and Julia are very friendly. You'll all have a great time together."
"And Noah," Matteo chimes in, his excitement palpable. "We finally get to meet him in person!"
"Yes, you do," I laugh, ruffling his hair. "You remember seeing him on the video call, right? He's looking forward to meeting you both, too."
Bianca comes into the room, her warm smile mirroring my own. "Thank you for taking them with you, Sofia. They've been talking about it all morning."
"It's no trouble at all," I reply, giving her a reassuring nod. "It'll be fun. Plus, I think it'll be good for them to make new friends."
We finish packing and head out. The walk to the villa is short, and the kids chatter excitedly the entire way. Dante trots alongside us, his tail wagging as he senses the children's enthusiasm.
When we arrive at the villa, the sound of laughter and conversation drift from the garden. I lead Matteo and Aurora inside, where they are immediately greeted by Henry, Isaac, and Julia.
"Hi, I'm Henry!" the eldest introduces himself with a grin. "Come on, let's go play in the pool!"
Matteo and Aurora don't need any more encouragement. They quickly drop their bags and join the other kids by the pool. I watch them for a moment, my heart swelling with happiness at seeing them so excited.
I turn and head toward the kitchen, where I can hear Noah's voice. As I enter, I see him talking with Mark and Hannah, and my face lits up. "Hey, amore," I say, walking over to give him a kiss.
"Hey," he replies, wrapping an arm around my waist. "The kids settled in okay?"
"Yes, they're already by the pool with Henry and the others," I say, glancing out the window. "They're so excited to meet everyone."
Noah smiles and pulls me closer. "I'm glad. It'll be good for them."
Mark and Hannah greet me warmly, and I join in on their conversation, feeling the warmth of the group envelop me. Despite the earlier part of the day spent working, being here with Noah and his friends makes everything feel just right.
