"The morning court today is such a pain. Some of the problems we have can be solved quickly but it was dragged so long by those old geezers who just want to make a name for themselves. Prince Lang Yue was really patient but it was obvious he could see through their schemes!"

"I'm usually kept from political affairs, so I don't know anything. But if you imply they have something to do with the sudden meeting....." Yao Yue growled at the memory of waking up to be greeted by the lifeless embrace of silk embroidery. Had that familiar warmth that lulled him to sleep been taken away by those ministers? His precious- no, THEIR precious time torn away with little care like old fabric to be used for rags?

"But that's just one of the things. Today, the morning court was regarding Denghu."

"The human village? Don't humans solve their own problems?" Yao Yue stated flatly. Then he briefly recalled his conversation with that pink-clothed guy. Yes, he mentioned something about all of them going to a village but which one was probably something Yao Yue himself would find out if he followed them.

"Did something happen in Denghu?" Yao Yue leaned closer to his friend, his interest peaking.

"People are disappearing."

". . . . . . . . . ."

". . . . . . . . . ."

"That's disappointing," he clasped his head in his palm. Turns out people left and right were just going missing and that's it.

"They need a meeting for this?!"

"Wait, listen. First, it was Yixun. Some of the villagers of Yixun went missing. They just vanished. No traces, nothing."

"So they believe it must be the work of some supernatural force. To us dragons, the current village head and all the previous heads of Yixun are quite well known for making pacts with spirits and the like. He probably didn't keep part of his bargain and angered the spirits, that's all."

"That was what we concluded last time. So we kept our hands clean of the matter, believing it was just the village head repeating the mistakes of his ancestors. But then, the people of Denghu suddenly disappeared the same way."

"Hmm..... I know Denghu and Yixun don't get along......have you all investigated the connection between each individual who disappeared?"

"We have. There was none. They all came from various social classes and their ages greatly vary as well-"

"Hai......" Yao Yue sighed. "So we really have no lead for the time being."

"-then Prince Lang Yue decided that it was imperative to study the link between the victims in greater detail and somehow the other princes involved themselves in it...."

"Xiulan! Did they say where they were going? They are going to Denghu, correct?"

"Not going, they already left."

"What?!"

Xiulan, tight-lipped, watched as Yao Yue leapt and ran on a path of tiles of several terrace rooftops before he jumped down into (possibly) an empty courtyard Just as his entire body was hidden from view, the familiar black dragon shot up from the exact spot towards the sky.

Finally, after the long body, tail and all, was engulfed by clouds, Xiulan redirected his gaze to the lake. He hoped the Amethyst Prince wouldn't ask anymore favours from him after this.

Now, back to dancing......
