TW: Emetophobia (not too graphic). No big mentions of abuse.

Being lifted inside an ambulance was completely new to Mia. Never in her life had she visioned herself in this situation. Although her thinking wasn't completely clear, nor her vison, she could just about make out Deliah staring at her in tears. She was so relieved to catch just a small blurred glimpse of the girl. Her body was constantly going in and out of consciousness. It was clear to doctors she was a victim of some horrendous abuse.

Inside the speeding vehicle, medical staff were desperately trying to pry information out of the girl. But Mia was too lost in thought and consciousness too respond. Her mind racing at a million miles per hour, her chest pounding heavily, having somewhat of a panic attack. Her entire body so slim, Roger tried to make her more desirable for Reece. 'Did Reece even like me' she thought to herself. She pictured Autumn's reaction too her dating Reece, a million times. Each one ending in conflict and or tears. She'd do anything for her un-biological sister. No mater how cruel this world would turn her, her love for Autumn would never change. The pounding need to know she was okay, would never disappear.

Everything was happening so fast too her, the girl only being fifteen. It was all too much, she just let it all out. Suddenly bursting with waves of tears, rapidly descending from her sore achy eyes. She felt as though she was football being tossed everywhere. The motion from the staff rushing around, was not gentle upon on her open wounds. They were just so stunned by the state of the girl. Who could ever hurt something so innocent.?

Immediately she was transferred into a room filled with bright lights and loud machines. "Hello?" A doctor asked her. Mia did not rely. She wasn't even aware of what he was saying to her. Mia fell unconscious the moment they poked a large needle in her thigh. They had concluded not to stress the girl further whilst tending to her injuries, which they suspected were rather large. Fortunately, she had not sustained anything as bad as the doctors had guessed. Which was a shock to everyone in the room. They knew police would have to be involved. This case was really puzzling them: the abuser had just let their victim go, not even leaving her with enough damage to end her life.

Mia's POV

I woke up to the soothing sound of a woman's voice. My body dressed in your classic hospital gown. The bed is nice and toasty and the sun is shinning, giving the room a warm tint. "Morning sweetie." Said what I expect to be a nurse. I start to hyperventilate, realising I'm laying in a hospital bed. "Shhh, it's okay sweetie." She says stroking my hand gently. Where's Roger? He going to freak when he finds I'm in hospital. I try to relax for the nurse's sake. I then feel a wave of sickness strike my oesophagus, before I know it, sickness had came out through my mouth. Gosh I'm so embarrassed. I just want to run away, run away from everything and everyone. I don't want to be stuck in this awkward situation. "It's okay honey." She says tucking my hair behind my ears in case I'm sick again. "It's normal for people to be sick in this situation" What does she mean in this situation? She doesn't know about Roger does she?

Someone then tries to unlock the door knob. Me and the woman's glance instantly takes a look at who the persistent person is. "Let me in" A voice yells in an annoyed tone, banging their fist upon the door. Roger's fist. The nurse steps up from being knelt down besides me, she recognises the face. I gulp petrified of what's about to unfold. The uncertainty is torture. "Amelia!" He calls, marching towards me. I put my brave face on, I have no idea what anyone knows. I don't respond to him, I freeze. Am I playing dead?

The nurse watches from the corner of the door. I can see great concern in her eyes, unfortunately I doubt there is any evidence to support her predictions. "You look disgusting" He whispered, getting up in my face. I can smell the lingering stench of whiskey from his warm breath. As someone who cares heavily about their looks, I felt incredibly vulnerable after these words slipped out of his mouth. Thankfully, Roger begins to approach the exit. "Sir, what is your relation to this girl, and what is her name?" She asked in a stern tone, trying to sound dominate. "Ah yes, this is Amelia Roberts. I am a close family friend." He explains in his usual cold monotone voice. I roll my eyes out of annoyance of his calm demeaner. "Nice to meet you then Amelia!" She turns her head round to face me with a cheery smile. I try to return the expression but you can tell how fake it is, almost as if it's sarcasm.

"Could we get the details of the girl's guardian please?" Questioned the woman. "I suppose so" He answers. Me and the nurse exchange confused looks after hearing his unbothered reply. Unless you have money, Roger couldn't give two sh*ts of what you think of him. He begins to write down my mum's number on a notepad the nurse handed him. "Here" He says, passing her the information. She nods at him, instantly forming a disliking to the man. "Thank you" She says hesitantly. Roger just nodded and walked off.

Later that day, the hospital was able to get hold of Mia's mother. She was stunned to hear of what had happened to her darling girl. Mia had claimed that she had fallen off her bike, explaining the bruises and cuts. But what about how malnourished the girl was? Thought the hospital staff. She wasn't dangerously underweight, but enough for it to be clearly visible. Unfortunately, they just rubbed it off. Later that day Mia had spotted her mother from the glass window on the door.....

Sorry for the short chapter, I haven't really felt like writing recently. But I thought I'd finish this chapter :).
