Gone Now, Here Tomorrow

Chapter 8

     I took my wand and poked at the coals. They spewed up more fire but nothing else. I layed back down defeated. I sighed and shoved my wand back into my pocket. I looked behind me and saw Fred and George coming down the stairs. When they saw me they gasped.

     "What are you doing down here Jade?!" They exclaimed quietly.

     "I could ask you the same thing." I smirked. They bit their lips nervously. I could tell they were plotting something.

     "Spill it Fred!" I whispered demandingly. He smiled at me defeated and walked over to the floor sitting next to me. He whispered their plan deviously.

     "SO, we are going to invade Filches office and steal random dangerous magical items from that drawer of his. All we need is a distraction." He gave me puppy dog eyes. And I sighed.

     "Only if you get me a thing or two." He grinned and we ran out of the common room quietly. We walked through the hallways to the front of Filches office. Fred grinned at me and I already knew what I had in mind.

     "Filch!" I whispered quietly. I easily made tears in my eyes as he walked out. I saw the twins go in and I ran forward.

     "What are you doin' outta bed?!" He said angrily.

     "Sir! Your my hero and I know that YOU and only you can solve my problem!" I saw an, I'm-an-idol glint in his eyes.

     "I was sleeping when I heard banging in the common room. I went down to look and I realized I left my,.. potions,.. homework in front of the fire. I went to pick it up but when I grabbed for it it moved. I followed it trying to catch it because it's due tommorow, I finally caught it, but I heard a grunt. I walked around the corner and saw Peeves. He flew away before I could get my homework. I could only think to come to my idol!" I said it like I was about to cry.

     "I'll have it back to you after breakfast in the morning. It WAS true, Peeves stole my potions homkework, only that was about,.... three days ago.

     I watched him run off looking for Peeves. I looked into Filches office and saw Fred and George with a tiny bag of the stuff.

     "Come on! He won't be gone for long!" I whispered.

     "Jade, don't tell anyone about tonight okay? Were going to try to re-create some of this stuff and sell it!" I nodded rolling my eyes playfully as we ran up the stairs. We were half-way up when we saw Snape walking down the hallway. I pulled out my wand and drew my invisibility cloak adding a mute charm so no one would hear us talking.

     "This is brilliant Jade! Why didn't you tell us about this before?!" They exclaimed.

     "Lets seeee, one you would use it to play pranks and steal magical items, two its mine, three its important to me, and four I dont want you two to get in trouble." They gaped at me.

     "Jade, you know us so well it's creepy." They faked a shiver and laughed. We finally made it to the portrait and whispered the password. When we got in the common room we sat on the sofa not bothering to take off the cloak.

     "What'd you get?" I said not able to conceal my excitement. They pulled out a guide for animagi and metamorphmagus, a 48 pack box of cheat quills, a mini crystal ball, a note book that I took quite an interest in, and a ton of prank objects. I took the guide for anamagi and metamorphmagi when they weren't looking, half of the cheat quills (which was 24 of them), the crystal ball thing, and the notebook. I left the of exploding candies and stuff to Fred and George. They yawned taking the cloak off as I did too.
