Three years had passed since the fall of the Free Cities of the Sky, and much of Eldoria had changed in that time. Once one of the strongest neutral countries, the Free Cities had proven itself defenseless against the might of the Celestial Pantheon. The impact of this defeat rippled across the continent. The notion of neutrality, once a proud stance for some, was now seen as an invitation to death. The world began to think that aligning with one of the four major powers was the only path to survival.

Shortly after the fall of the Free Cities of the Sky, the Ironclad Republic followed suit, crumbling within the year. Stonehaven, under the command of Terran, the God of Earth, allied with the forces of Elarion, ruled by Solara, the Goddess of Light. Though Elarion's involvement in the war remained limited, their strategic support was enough to secure Stonehaven's victory over the Ironclad Republic. The fall of the republic  further cemented the belief that standing apart from the Celestial Pantheon was an act of hubris.

Now, with the combined resources of the Free Cities and the Ironclad Republic, Stonehaven's army was stronger than ever before. With Elarion's backing, they launched a new campaign against the country of Ignisia, ruled by Pyrrhus, the God of Flames. Skirmishes between Stonehaven and Ignisia had occurred in the past, but nothing on this scale. Stonehaven's troops, now equipped with advanced weapons and armor, relentlessly assaulted Ignisia's defenses. Even with the might of the Pyrrhus armies, the God of Flames struggled to hold his ground.

The war raged on, each battle a brutal testament to the unyielding will of their respective gods. Stonehaven pressed forward, determined to bring all of Eldoria under its control. And within this raging storm, they pursued another goal—locating the elusive Adventurers' Guild known as the Hastaa Umbrae. This enigmatic group, last seen defending the Free Cities from Stonehaven's onslaught, had since vanished into the shadows. Despite significant efforts, Stonehaven's attempts to trace them proved futile. The Hastaa Umbrae, led by the mysterious Shadow, seemed to have disappeared entirely from the face of Eldoria, frustrating Terran's every effort to root them out.

Whispers of an ancient prophecy filled the lands—The Prophecy of Light and Darkness. It spoke of a time when the stars would align, the gods would fall, and shadows would rise, heralded by the Eyes of the Abyss. As the prophecy foretold, the heavens would be plunged into chaos, and a great war would unfold, threatening to shatter the very order that held Eldoria together. Amidst this turmoil, two beings would emerge: one embodying shadow, the other, a beacon of light. Their fates intertwined, these beings would decide the destiny of Eldoria—whether it would be engulfed in eternal darkness or reborn in purifying light.

Terran and his allies were determined to prevent this prophecy from coming true. Their obsession with finding Shadow stemmed from a secret belief that he could be the one called the "Eyes of the Abyss." If true, then Shadow's very existence threatened the Celestial Pantheon's dominion. Terran could not tolerate the idea of a mortal rising to challenge the gods. And yet, despite all their efforts, no trace of Shadow or his followers could be found.

Shadow, whose true identity was Kael Arondale, had indeed vanished, but not without purpose. The secretive organization he founded, known as the Shadow Order, had been diligently building its strength, biding its time in the shadows. They had established two hidden cities—Occultum and Initium—each serving a unique role in their plan to challenge those who threatened their way of life. Occultum, the city hidden in shadows, was built within a secret dimension, a sanctuary for lost clans and outcasts. Aurora Ravenshade, the last of the powerful Ravenshade clan and the eldest daughter of the progenitors of the vampire race, had pledged herself to Shadow and the Order. Under her leadership, Occultum flourished, becoming a haven for those who sought refuge from the harsh world outside. Entry to Occultum was a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few who had sworn loyalty to the Shadow Order.
