A Family (Oc x reader)

River Stream

  Edward glance between the two streams. Then look at his son who is attached to his line, and Jake nods in agreement. They rapidly paddle themselves with all their strength toward the Right stream. Everyone on the team follows, Bullet tells Gabriel and Bonnie to stay with the others.

  Edward and Jake look around as they also have to keep themselves afloat. The river is rapidly increasing speed and getting more treacherous.

  Hearing a gasp, they turn to it and see you struggling to stay afloat. They swim, but before they reach you, you're pulled back under. Then suddenly Blue gets pulled under too. Breezy grabs the line between them and pulls on it until he gets a hold of him, helping him stay afloat. He struggles, so Bane with Bolt swim up from behind and help them. You get up again and hear voices.

  "Yn!" Edward and Jake yells.

  You turn and see them.

  "Watch out! Behind you!"

  Turning around, you just barely dive in time to avoid hitting your head into a tree fallen across the river. They dive under too and getting back up they don't see you.

  You struggle to swim back up to the surface and get caught in another broken off tree branch on the bottom. It cuts you, making you involuntarily scream in surprise at the sudden sharp pain, accidentally releasing the air you had in your lungs.

  Jake is glancing down just when he happens to barely see a figure at the bottom up ahead. "Dad! She's at the bottom!"

  The two dive and let the stream pull them down toward you. You see them as you try to pull your leg free. Edward grabs you and Jake takes your leg, freeing you. Then they swim you up. They struggle, but manage to reach the surface.

  Jake gets a hold of another tree branch also making Edward with you stop, he drags you in, fighting the stream. Edward grab his son and hold on to the tree. You cough and try to catch your breath.

  You're clutching to Edward as he holds you. "I swear I just saw the door to Valhalla." You joke in a pant and look at the two men that saved you. "Odin says hi. Or maybe it was Davy Jones' locker. He had an eyepatch."

  Bullet and the others grab a hold of a branch not too far from you. Looking around, you can't see a way to get up from the river from this spot or anything ahead.

  "We're past any point to get out!" You shout to them as you look around. "The river ends with a waterfall. But it's the strong stream current that causes the most danger. We'll loose more and more control the further we get."

  You look at the young man with them, who they're helping keep afloat.

  "Put some more weight on him and stay in pairs of two!" You look at the two holding you. "Your best chance is if you let me go. The two of you are  already balanced in weight. I'll only uneven it and make it worse for you. I'm not attached and you're gonna need both your arms."
(Btw: All this probably doesn't make much sense, but I have no idea what would work in this scenario and I'm not sure how to explain how the river is in my mind. I'm just writing what I imagined in my mind and hope it's not too weird and unrealistic. So just bear with me.)

  "You won't survive that!" Jake argues.

  "I'll be fine!" You lie, you weren't sure you could make it on your own, but it is even more likely if they hold on to you it will lead to their deaths too.

  "There's no way I'm letting go of my daughter-in-law!" Edward tells you.

  You look at him in shock. Then glancing at all of them you realise who they are.
