Mad Hatter was walking down the path he was set on. He chose not to have many breaks to get to the west on "time", even though there wasn't a set time. Hatter didn't know how long it has been since Munchkin land and Mr. Rabbit's consent talking about being on time would be useful at the moment. Mad Hatter found it weird how quiet it was. There was of course birds criping and other normal forest sounds. There was no talking caterpillar, dodo, or dormouse.
Then Hatter heard a scream above him. He looked up to see Mr. Rabbit flying down in a pink bubble.
"HeHAheHa, What are you doing all the way up there, Mr. Rabbit?" Mad Hatter laughed out the question.
Mad Hatter grabbed the bubble as soon as it was close to him. He brought the bubble in front of him and it popped. Mr. Rabbit plopped to the ground.
"I hate heights so much" Mr. Rabbit sighed.
"Silly Mr. Rabbit, I didn't know rabbits could make bubbles and fly in them" Mad Hatter laughed.
"Because we can't. It was made by Ms. Glinda" Mr. Rabbit sighed.
"Ms. Glinda" Mad Hatter chuckled. "Who may that be?" He asked with curiosity.
"She's the queen of the south and she said she will try to get us home" Mr. Rabbit explained.
"Sounds interesting" Hatter chuckled. "Did she mention anything about a guy named Nick and a Scarecrow?"
"Yes she did and she also said she sent a Lion to look over you" Mr. Rabbit replied, shivering a bit of fear at the mention of a Lion.
"A Lion I see, let's hope it's a nice one" Hatter chuckled.
"Let's hope it doesn't eat us, even though I was told he was nice. You never really know" Mr. Rabbit said.
"You don't have to worry about the whole me wanting to eat you thing " Hatter heard a voice behind him.
Hatter fully turned to look behind him with Mr. Rabbit fearfully peaking out behind him. They both saw a tired looking Lion sitting down on the road.
"Speaking of a Lion" Mad Hatter chuckled.
"Yeah, and speaking of a Rabbit and a strange looking human" Lion yawned an inside joke to him self.
"Are you the Lion Ms. Glinda had told to watch over Hatter here?" Mr. Rabbit fearfully asked while still hiding behind Mad Hatter.
"Yep" the Lion said. "Let's continue down West. I'm sure you want to see your friends again and this gives me an excuse to see mine" Lion chuckled some while standing up.
Lion walked past Hatter and Mr. Rabbit and turned back with 'are you coming face'.
"Come on Mr. Rabbit" Mad Hatter chuckled.
Mad Hatter picked up Mr. Rabbit and started walking next to the Lion.
"Why are you carrying me?" Mr. Rabbit asked the Mad Hatter.
"So I don't lose track of you since you're the fast one" Hatter replied.
"So Mr. Lion, I guess you are friends with a Scarecrow and a Nick" Hatter asked the Lion with some chuckles.
"Yep, I guess Glinda or someone told you about them" Lion replied, still looking ahead.
"Ms. Glinda told Mr. Rabbit here and a lady named Nimmie told me" Hatter stated.
The Lion stopped for a second and started walking again.
"I guess word travels fast" Lion chuckled some to himself.
"It seems like it does" Mr. Rabbit nervously chuckled. "Hatter, can we hurry up please?" Mr. Rabbit asked "Alice must be worried sick"
"I'll try" Hatter chuckled.
