This is Mocha Lily!
Basically, when she was little her cutie mark just randomly appeared and she had no idea wtf it meant and neither did her parents. She got bullied for being talentless. Finally, she reaches adulthood and she comes to find out that genetically, biologically, she is a unicorn. She was just somehow born without her horn.
Her cutie mark is a testament to the sheer amount of magic and magical talent she's supposed to have but doesn't because her magic doesn't recognize that she doesn't have a horn

This guy is Penny Foam, like pennyroyal mint and sea foam mixed together (:
He's best friends with Mocha Lily. Whilst she knows what her cutie mark is and what it means and is now on a journey to figure out how to harness her magic, his came in late and he's got no idea what it correlates to. He's usually pretty monotone and quiet, which doesn't fit the heart on his flank at all. He worries about Mocha traveling on her own and basically agrees to accompany her because he's concerned she'll get hurt

This dude is Sun Reach!
He's traveling with Penny Foam and Mocha Lily. He was hurt in an accident when he was younger, scarring the place his cutie mark should've been. Ever since then he's been an outcast, though he doesn't let the comments get to him and has shown to be fairly cocky, sneaky, and not at all insecure about his lack of mark. He falls in with Mocha and Penny after they pass through his town
