Caught in the Net - An MLB Fanfic LKS
The start of this story takes place Seven years after the Wish (end of season 5)

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Marinette groaned. She reached over to her night stand to snooze the alarm on her phone. There was another groan from next to her and he muttered “I’m not ready yet.” An arm that was not her own draped over her and pulled her close to him. Marinette snuggled on his shoulder and the shaggy haired blond man kissed her head. Musical tones pierced the silence. “Fuck,” the man muttered. He reached for his phone. “What?” he growled into the phone.
“Adrien,” the female voice calmly said into the phone, “Your meeting with the board starts in an hour. Do not be late.”
“It’s my fucking company, Nathalie,” Adrien growled. He hated being woken up. Especially now that he had a reason to stay in bed now. Marinette snuggled next to him sleepily.
“Be there,” Nathalie responded and ended the call. Adrien gripped the phone and resisted the urge to throw it against the wall.
“Princess?” he cooed and kissed Marienette on the hair, “I gotta go.”
“I know, me too,” Marinette muttered.
Marinette’s phone then rang,
“Hey Nathalie,” Marinette answered sweetly. How she was this sweet this early, was beyond Adrien’s comprehension.
“Fuuuuuck,” he muttered again, she has got to stop with the calls, he thought.
Nathalie spoke on the speaker phone, “Miss Marinette, please let him get up. Adrien does not need to miss this meeting.” They snickered. Nathalie’s daily wake up calls have become the standard procedure the last three years. Nathalie quickly learned her lesson three days after Adrien’s girlfriend moved into the Agreste mansion the week of Marinette’s 18th birthday. Nathalie had caught them one morning in the throws of passion, celebrating in their own couple way. Nathalie did know that Adrien was a grown man now, but she will be forever haunted by the sight and decided that in person wake ups of her charge - well now employer needed to change.
Marinette gave her boyfriend the side eye as he was muttering a string of profanity - but more importantly  - not getting out of bed. “ I will make sure he’s there Nathalie,” Marinette said.
“Thank you,” the despondent assistant muttered and ended the call.
“You are the reason for her gray hairs, Adrien,” Marinette laughed, kissed Aidren’s rock hard abs, and headed to the bathroom. Plagg, the black cat kwami and little god of destruction peeked out of the phone holder at the top of the head board. “She gone? Finally, cheese.” And Plagg flew to the hidden stash of cheese Adrien kept for the tiny pest and his best friend and loyal confidant.
Little did Adrien know, in the very same phone holder, Tikki, Marinette’s kwami and Yin to Plagg’s yang was snuggled up still fast asleep. The two kwamis often shared giggles at how in love their holders were, but yet still could not figure out their alter ego counter parts. It had been eight years of fighting crime, and akumas, and countless patrols, and close calls, but they had still not figured it out yet.
Marinette’s phone rang.
“Alya,” Adrien called out, and Marinette came running from the bathroom. Adrien wanted nothing more than to rip that towel from around her and to get back into bed with her.
“Hey girl,” Marinette answered. Alya and Nino had just gotten back from their honeymoon, so she must want to get together.
“Can you drive us to the airport?” Alya sounded panicked. “Our flight leaves in an hour.”
Adrien shot up.
“Is everything ok?” Marinette asked.
“No,” Alya sounded as if she was about to break down again.
Nino took over the call, “Hey dudes, Alya’s Aunt and Uncle just died and now her cousin is missing. We have to fly to Canada with Otis right now.”
“Do you need me to watch the twins?”
Nino replied, “No, Nas, and her Mom are going to stay here just in case her cousin calls.”
Marinette and Adrien exchanged worried glances. “Ok, I’m on my way. Are you at Alya’s parents?”
“Yeah.”
“Ok, be there soon.”
Adrien got up and headed into the bathroom.
Marinette dialed Nathalie.  She answered on the first ring. “Yes Miss Marinette?”
“Can you please have a car ready for me as well, and please clear my schedule for the day? I have had an emergency come up.’
“Yes ma’am.”
“Thank you Ms Nathalie.” Marinette finished getting dressed, and called into the bathroom, “Baby?” The shower stopped immediately and Adrien stepped out, with a towel wrapped around his waist, dripping wet. Marinette had to swallow the lump that formed in her throat. I can’t believe he’s mine. There was obvious turmoil in his eyes. He was torn between his obligations as “Mr Agreste, CEO of the Gabriel brand  and being there for his friends. Marinette sensed this and reached up on her tip toes and offered him a small kiss. “I’ve got this. I’ll convey your love and your thoughts and prayers. You need to go. I know how important this meeting is. You are going to need the board’s support especially now with Kagami’s mother out of the picture.” Adrien sighed. He knew his girlfriend was right of course. This was the very first board meeting since Adrien assumed full control of the company three months ago upon turning 21. Upon becoming an adult at 18, he had become majority stockholder, but because of the contracts set in place before his father died, Tsurgi Tomatoe was still acting CEO for the additional three years. The first thing he did was remove her. Something about her did not sit right with him. He was still too controlling of his friend, even though she had settled down with his cousin Felix, the woman controlled every aspect of her life. Adrien had sent the old woman packing for Japan. After the whole Alliance scandal, both brands were nearly ruined anyways, and he didn’t care. All he cared about was Marinette, and she was by his side, and had been since they were 15. And when Marinette finally turned 18, they celebrated in a big way. They finally gave themselves to each other. It was the best night of his life. His childhood crush on Ladybug was nothing compared to the love he felt for Marinette. And when she finally moved in with him, she hadn’t left his side since.
He placed his forehead against hers. “Get going before I have to ravish you again,” he put all his charm in his voice hoping it would work and he could charm her back to bed.
She was tempted, but giggled, ‘You sir, need to get a move on as well. I will see you tonight, that is a promise.” She booped his nose before pulling away and exiting the bedroom. Adrien could not hide his disappointment as he headed back to the shower and switched on the cold water.
