"Are you fucking stupid?" Ves asks Sam incredulously from her spot in the chair.
Sam scoffs beside me on the couch, "No, I'm just right."
"How is Amber better than Darcie? She's only on the show to get her fifteen minutes of fame!" Ves shoots back.
I never thought I'd see the day my best friend and partner would fight over which girl they think should get the last rose.
The three of us are currently camped out in my living room watching the Bachelor because Ves argued that she helped carry Sam's drunk ass to the couch the other night, therefore, she got to pick what we watched. I mean she had a point, but now I'm beginning to regret my decision.
Sam removes his arm from around my shoulder as he begins listing reasons on why Amber should get the rose.
"First off, that's not the case, she's just camera shy and never knows how to act when it's in her face. Second, her and Thomas have the same likes ranging from hobbies to what breed of dog they like most, and third, Darcie is a stuck up bitch that keeps trying to hog him all to herself." Why is he so amped about this?
"Camera shy? Really? That's such bullshit." Ves deadpans.
Maybe I should move, my neck is getting tired from looking back and forth between them.
I'm just about to move to the opposite side of Sam, when he decides at that moment to put his arm back around me, like he didn't realize my plan, as he voices his opinion.
"Just because you're not afraid to flaunt yourself publicly doesn't mean every other girl is okay with it."
He does have a point.
The tense music of the rose ceremony sounds in the background pulling their attention to the screen.
"Shut up! Shut up!" Ves exclaims.
Sam raises his eyebrow at her with amusement in his eyes, "You're the only one talkin-"
"Ssssshut the fuck up!" She swats her hand in Sam's direction.
I roll my eyes as the bachelor talks to the five girls on the screen.
"I want to thank you ladies for taking the time to meet with me tonight. I've really enjoyed the time that I've spent with each of you this past week. But I unfortunately have to make a decision."
The camera panels to each of the girls in a dramatic effect causing me to roll my eyes at the theatrics of this show.
Glancing to Ves, she's practically falling out of her seat as her attention is zeroed in on the screen. I turn to glance at Sam, my movements pulling his focus as he looks at me with a smile, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek, then returning his focus to the screen.
With a humored huff, I bring my attention back to the show to see that they're already on the last rose. The last two people that remain are, surprise surprise, Amber and Darcie.
"Amber. You are such an extraordinary girl. You make me laugh like crazy and I'm always looking forward to spending time with you." Thomas, I think, says with his mushy heart eyes as Amber thanks him.
"Darcie. You're a firecracker that gives me a run for my money. I love a girl who's not afraid to speak her mind when she feels like it."
"That's right, Thomas, choose the firecracker." Ves hoots at the screen.
"This was a difficult decision for me to make, but I gotta give my last rose to.."
Cue the dramatic instrumental.
"Amber, will you honor me and take my last rose."
"Yes!"
"Nooooo!"
Sam fist pumps the air as Ves rakes her fingers through her hair and grips the strands. I worry she'll rip her hair out.
The host makes their way over to Darcie to lead her to an awaiting car, "Come with me, dear."
Sam laughs next to me, victorious, "Get out of here bitch. That's what happens when you sabotage other girls' dates." His words causing me to giggle.
He's way too amped.
"You ok Ves?" I bring my focus to my best friend as she pouts like a child.
Sam messes with a strand of my hair absentmindedly, "She's just butthurt that I was right and she was wrong."
If looks could kill, Sam would be dead right about now.
"I will throttle you, human, don't test me." Her voice, venomous.
"Will ya now?" He remarks mockingly.
Yep, he's dead.
Ves growls, "Oh you little-" she's up in an instant and shoots for Sam.
Sam goes to grab for me to use me as a shield, but I'm up and out of the way before he has a chance, resulting in Ves jumping him as she beats him with a couch pillow.
"Hey! Hey get off!" Sam tries to fight back, "Dove! Dove, help me!"
I shake my head with an amused smile as I lean against the wall, crossing my arms, "You tried to use me as a shield against Ves, I think you were asking for it."
He grunts when Ves gets a good hit on his face and I bite my lip to hold back another laugh.
"This is what you get, fucker! Take that!" Ves continues her assault for another few minutes before I finally step in.
"Alright Ves, I think you made your point," I remark with a laugh.
Huffing at my words, Ves climbs off of Sam and returns to her seat with a satisfied grunt.
Sam looks at Ves from his lying position on the couch with a playful glare, "Better?"
A smile spreads across her face as she gives a nod, "Much, thank you."
Being with these two is like babysitting children.
