Dunk's message popped up on Fourth's phone just as he was getting ready for bed.

Dunk: Lunch date tomorrow? Just you and me?

Fourth's eyebrows rose, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He bit his lip, debating his reply for a moment.

Fourth: Sure, why not?

The response was instant.

Dunk: Good! I promise I'll sweep you off your feet 😉

Fourth rolled his eyes but found himself smiling wider at Dunk's playful flirting. He decided to indulge just a little.

Fourth: You? Sweep me off my feet? We'll see about that 😏

Dunk's reaction was pure joy, evident in the barrage of silly, blushing emojis that followed. They continued texting back and forth late into the night, Dunk shamelessly laying on the charm while Fourth occasionally returned a flirt or two. He couldn't help but feel a little lighter; talking to Dunk was easy, comfortable, and maybe even a bit... fun.

The next day, as Fourth was getting ready for the lunch date, he hit a snag—he couldn't find anyone to babysit Nan. His parents were still out of town, and his usual go-to options were unavailable. Sighing, he texted Dunk.

Fourth: Hey, I hope you don't mind, but I have to bring Nan along. Couldn't find anyone to watch her.

Dunk: Mind? Are you kidding? I love that kid! Bring her! It'll be even more fun! 😁

True to his word, when they met at the café, Dunk greeted Nan with an enthusiastic hug, making her giggle in delight. Throughout lunch, Dunk's attention was equally divided between Nan and Fourth. He played with Nan, making funny faces and silly voices, keeping her entertained while still finding time to sneak in flirtatious comments at Fourth.

Fourth couldn't help but admire how naturally Dunk fit into their little dynamic. He'd always thought of omegas as delicate or needy, but Dunk was proving him wrong with every laugh and smile. There was a warmth to him, an energy that seemed to make everything brighter.

After lunch, Nan's eyes lit up as they passed by an amusement park, and she immediately began pleading. "Papa, can we go, please? Pretty please?" she begged, tugging on Fourth's arm.

Before Fourth could answer, Dunk jumped in. "I think we have no choice, Fourth," he said with a laugh. "How can we say no to that face?"

Fourth chuckled, shaking his head in defeat. "Fine, let's go," he said, and Nan's squeal of joy was almost loud enough to make him regret his decision. Almost.

The rest of the afternoon was filled with laughter, rides, and way too much cotton candy. Dunk and Fourth took turns holding Nan's hand as they went from one attraction to another, her excitement contagious. They even took a few silly photos together, Nan in the middle with a grin that stretched from ear to ear.

As night fell, Nan was fast asleep, worn out from all the excitement. Dunk cradled her in his arms, holding her with such tenderness that it made Fourth's heart skip a beat. Fourth carried the bags filled with the day's winnings and purchases as they made their way back to his apartment.

Once inside, Fourth gently tucked Nan into bed, brushing her hair away from her face and kissing her forehead. When he returned to the door, Dunk was waiting, looking almost shy for the first time that day.

"Thanks for today, Dunk," Fourth said, a soft smile on his face. "Nan had the time of her life."

"I did too," Dunk said, his smile as bright as ever. "And hey, maybe I managed to sweep you off your feet, even just a little?"

Fourth let out a small laugh, shaking his head. "Maybe," he said, his tone teasing, but there was a softness in his eyes that hadn't been there before.

Before he could say anything else, Dunk leaned in and pressed a quick, chaste kiss to Fourth's lips. It was over in a heartbeat, but it left Fourth frozen, his heart racing in his chest. Dunk pulled back, his cheeks flushed, a mischievous grin on his face.

"Goodnight, Fourth," he said, then turned and dashed off, almost tripping over his own feet in his hurry to leave.

Fourth stood there for a moment, staring at the spot where Dunk had been, his lips still tingling from the kiss. He touched his mouth, a small smile playing at the corners. He never thought he'd be able to like an omega, but Dunk... Dunk was something else. Cute, adorable, and unexpectedly charming.

And maybe, just maybe, liking him didn't seem so impossible anymore.
