"Mom, I'm having a friend over." Maki's voice rang out from the entry way of the house. Denki raised an eyebrow at what his sister said.
"What do you mean someone is coming over? Is she cute?" Denki asked, following her up the stairs. Maki rolled her eyes before retreating into her room.
"My friend is coming over. And yes, he's very cute." The black haired girl said before shutting the door in her twin brother's face. Well, they weren't identical twins. They had the same face and mostly the same personality but their hair and the way they presented themselves were opposites.
"Mom! Maki is bringing a guy over!" Denki ran down the stairs, pestering their mother. Maki rolled her eyes, sliding off the blazer to her uniform. She grabbed new clothes and walled into her bathroom.
She hummed, shedding her clothes. She hopped in the shower. She hummed the song 'From the start' by Laufey while shampooing her hair. After she finished her shower, she quickly dried off. Maki threw on a pair of jeans and a red cropped shirt. She blow dried her hair and then syled it until it satisfied her. She put on some light makeup and called it a day.
She skipped out of her room and headed downstairs. Now that they were third years, UA let the students go home every weekend, but only if they wanted to. Maki and Denki always took that offer up. Jirou yelled at her boyfriend for ditching her to go home. That wasn't good for him...
Maki cleaned up the kitchen, pulling out things they would need for their third date. Maki hoped he liked cookies cause... that's all she could afford. She was thinking of getting a part time job. Someone had to pay for all the dates.
A knock on the door silenced the whole house. Maki rushed to the door, racing her brother. Little did they know, a faster and more athletic adult joined the race.
"Hello, I'm Shoto Todoroki. I'm here to see Maki Kaminari." Todoroki introduced himself, bowing to the woman who opened the door.
"Well, hello. I'm Nirihana Kaminari. I'm her mother. Come on in." The older woman that looked more like Denki opened the door wider. The teenager walked into the house, shocking Denki.
"Todoroki!? And my sister!?" Denki exclaimed. Maki rolled her eyes and walked over to Todoroki.
"We aren't dating, chill." Maki reassured her brother so he would pass out or have a heart attack.
"But, aren't we going on dates? Doesn't that mean we're dating?" Todoroki questioned the girl that had been dragging him around for the past week.
"Todoroki... when people talk about dating... they refer to people who are in a relationship. Like how Denki and Jirou and boyfriend and girlfriend. They're dating." Maki explained to the boy. It felt quite awkward to do in front of her mother.
"Oh.."
"Yeah..." Maki sighed, "let's just get to baking."
"Yes." Todoroki nodded, following the girl into the kitchen. Nirihana giggled to herself, leaving the two teenagers alone, dragging her son with her.
"Why are we baking today?" Todoroki asked. Maki sighed.
"My bank account needs a break." She said, crying in brokenness.
"If money is the problem, let me take care of the expenses." Todoroki said. Maki gasped.
"I couldn't do that to you!"
"Don't worry about it. Time is money. As long as you have time, I have money." Todoroki reassured her.
"You must be an angel!" Maki sniffled. Todoroki blushed at her compliment.
The two got to work baking the cookies. Maki fooled around for the most part but the cookies ended up turning out great. The two teenagers were a mess but the savory taste of the cookies was worth it. Todoroki would beg to differ because he had flour stuck to the side of his face from the bag.
"Here." Maki handed a wet rag to Todoroki. He nodded and used it to wipe the white powder off of his face. Maki giggled as he missed an entire spot on his face.
"Let me help you." She took the rag from him and wiped the flour off of his face. The fabric slid across his cheek, sending a tickling sensation through his skin. It felt weird for her to be taking care of him like this. Even Maki had to remind herself.
"97 more to go..."
