" eyes like ice "

-

one week later

its monday, which means its a school day. my first day of school at beverly hills highschool, and on top of that i was a senior. was i nervous? hell yes. was i excited though? obviously. i mean its beverly hills. it's a place for the rich and famous. which, thanks to my father, we fall under the rich category. i'm surprised he hasn't come searching for us or called the cops.

i sat on a stool my mom had bought for the kitchen counter putting on concealer, powder, mascara, lipgloss, and blush before grabbing my straightener to make my bangs look decent. i was big on first impressions, especially when it comes to teachers. because if you act like a stuck up bitch, they'll treat you like one.

my eyes widened when i realized i was already late and missed the bus i was supposed to ride to school. i groaned when i saw the bus pass by my house through the glass doors.

i went to the room my mom was in, making it the office, before speaking up from behind her. "mom, i missed the bus." i said with a frustrated sigh.

"shit. i'm sorry i can't leave right now and drive you. if you want you can miss today—"

"NO." i cut her off. she laughed and held her hands up. she knew i was big on getting perfect attendance because at my old school, i'd miss one day and miss a lot of work. "alright, you'll have to walk then." she replied with a sweet smile.

i hesitated for a moment. i'd definitely be late if i walked, but it was better than missing the first day of school. that wouldn't make a good impression... i don't think. "okay. i'll leave now then." i said as i gave my mom a quick hug before going to the front doors.

"have a good day!" she called out. "i will!" i replied back before closing the door.

when i finally got to the school, there were some students walking in but it was mostly clear indicating that school had already started. i sighed before quickly walking to the office.

i got a late slip as i pulled out my paper schedule from the backpack my mom had took me back to school shopping for yesterday. math, seriously? i thought to myself as i checked my first period.

i sucked at math. that was my weak point, other than that, my grades were great. i had all a's last year except for a c-minus in math.

when i got to the room i handed the teacher the late slip. she looked really nice so hopefully she would be easy on me. she smiled and grabbed the slip. "you can sit over there." she said, pointing to a desk beside a boy.

i stood there for a moment, which was a split second, but it felt like forever, as i looked at the boy. he had dark curly hair, a perfect jawline, perfectly arched brows, thin lips, and eyes like ice.

i snapped out of it and walked over to my seat beside him placing my backpack on the back of my chair. for some reason, being beside him made me nervous. and yes i got nervous a lot, especially with loud noises, but i wasn't sure what this type of nervous was.

i wasn't like... scared of him. he just looked... i don't know how to describe it. his face overall looked soft and sweet, but his eyes were so intense and you couldn't see past them.
