 Author: Gongzi Liuyue

Synopsis: Chen Heyan married into a wealthy family right after graduation, living the enviable life of a wealthy wife. Though her husband, the heir to a prominent family, was always busy and rarely spent time with her, he never flirted with other women.

Chen Heyan thought this life was pretty good.

That was until she fell at her brother-in-law's engagement party. When she woke up, she discovered that this world was actually a novel, and she was the scheming supporting character. The true protagonists were her husband's younger brother and his fiancée.

Her role, along with her husband's, was to serve as a negative contrast to the main couple.

The female lead had a sweet romance plot and a perfect life — a famous actress in the entertainment industry, from a prestigious family, forming a power couple with the male lead. She had the love of her in-laws, the blessings of fans, and a sweet, loving relationship with her husband.

In contrast, Chen Heyan was portrayed as an upstart from a modest background, narrow-minded, unemployed, with a mother-in-law who only cared if she was pregnant with the eldest grandchild. Her husband was distant and unexpressive, only giving her money and bags. The outside world was just waiting to see her become a joke after being abandoned.

The stark contrast between the two daughters-in-law of the Qin family was obvious.

According to the plot, she would eventually become jealous of the main couple, trying to compete and always losing, ultimately leading to her husband's accidental death. Then, the male lead would take over the family business and kick her out of the family, leaving her with a miserable ending.

Chen Heyan: Is this for real? No way am I giving up without a fight!

When the popular actress Jiang Xin appeared with her wealthy husband on the reality show "Sweet Marriage," the camera occasionally captured glimpses of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law when they visited the family home.

Halfway through the show's broadcast, social media was buzzing with trending topics—

#Another day of digging through the screen for scraps of sweetness from the brother-in-law and sister-in-law#

#I didn't even notice Jiang Xin and her husband; I was too busy replaying the scenes of the sister-in-law playfully hitting the brother-in-law. What kind of magical love story is this!#

#Petition for the show to have the brother-in-law and sister-in-law as guests in the next season#

#From today, I'm a die-hard fan of this couple. Everyone, keep your eyes on them and ship them hard!#

...

Male Lead's Perspective: He was naturally reserved, not good with words, nor with expressing his emotions.

He just never told his wife that when he was young, he first felt the stirrings of love and had secretly fallen for her.

From then on, his feelings for her never wavered.

Reading Guide:

Single couple (SC), 1V1 relationship, with the male lead harboring a secret crush on the female lead since his student days. The synopsis has been screenshot. The female and male characters in the story have a mix of good and bad qualities. Note: this story contains criticism of the original main couple, so if that's not to your taste, consider skipping it.Both the protagonists are portrayed as ordinary people with their own flaws. If you're looking for perfect characters, this may not be suitable.

----------------

This novel doesn't really have anything particularly exciting in it. It's a relaxing read (but not in the farming or cooking genre). The romance between the leads is good. I would rate it 2.5/5. It reminds me of novels by famous authors when they were just starting to publish. The writing style and plot still have room for improvement, but there is potential here.
