AXEL

Axel stormed outside with a death-like grip on his book bag. Remembering the events from inside the cafeteria, he groaned aloud and soon found an empty bench next to a tree to sit at. He plopped down and slung his bag onto the table, holding his chin with his hand. He finally sighed.

I have to get that class switched out. There's no way I'm sitting next to an immature jerk for the rest of school year.

With this in mind, Axel decided to go on his phone to pass the time. He soon realized there was no data and could feel a migraine forming when all of a sudden he heard a voice come from in front of him.

He glanced up.

"Hey, can I sit here?"

At first Axel only blinked for a second, forgetting to reply as he took in the beautiful girl in front of him. Her dark black hair cascaded over her shoulders, and she adorned a light-gray long sleeved t-shirt that hugged her figure just enough to show her slender frame.

She had curly bangs that framed her forehead and wispy eyelashes that made his heart skip a beat. Her skin was nearly pale, with her cheeks spotted with blush. Entranced, all Axel could think was that she was super super cute.

It was until she tilted her head in confusion that Axel remembered he was supposed to reply.

"Huh? I-I mean yeah, sure." Axel sputtered and she simply grinned in response and took a seat. "Thanks."

He pursed his lips into a smile before he looked down feeling the atmosphere turn awkward. He decided to find something to do on his phone once again.

A few minutes passed as Axel played a random mobile game before the girl asked him a question.

"... What's your name?" She asked and he finally met her gaze. He looked back down only to see that he'd lost and he felt his face heat up.

She probably saw that.

"Axel. But you can call me Axe, if you want." Axel shrugged. "Mind if I get yours?"

"It's Leena." She smiled all pearly whites and gloss. Axel could feel his stomach swarm with butterflies. He opened his mouth as if to say something else when all of a sudden the bell rung. Guess lunch was going to end soon anyway.

They both looked at each other for a moment then Leena smiled softly and started grabbing her things. "I guess that was the bell. Thanks for letting me sit here by the way. I'll see you around, Axel." She waved behind her and made her way back into the main building.

"Bye, Leena.." He said back, not that she could hear him. He grinned to himself a little, forgetting the whole ordeal he had in the cafeteria previously that day.

Axel could feel his heart going bonkers in his chest and he had to take a deep breath to calm himself down. He watched her turn a corner and then he could see her long raven hair no more.

He decided he should going to his next class too. He glanced down at his bag for a moment, before grabbing it and slinging it over his shoulder.

It was finally last period and Axel felt completely drained. It wasn't like anything else bad happened the last few periods, but he was still just so tired of having to hear teachers talk about the same things over and over again. He was staring up at the class ceiling while balancing a pen between his nose and upper lip when the bell rung to announce the end of school.
