I walk back into the dark building at 10pm, just like he asked. I enter the same room we had been in just hours earlier. He's not here, I find my way to nearest wall and slide down so that I'm sitting on the floor. I'm wearing a pair of ripped black jeans, a black tank top, a black leather jacket, and my black boots. In my hands I hold my small black and gold clutch. Most of my clothes are black, they have been since freshman year or high school.
I'm jumped by a sudden creak, I can't see 5 feet in front of me so I remain still. Luke appears with a flashlight shining in my eyes.
"Hey cat eye." he smirks at me while I stand up from the floor.
"I have a name." I dust myself off, he looks stumped as to what to say, instead of the normal reaction of asking what my name was.
"But I like cat eye." he says.
"It's Ruby thanks for asking." I send a fake smile his way, I pull out my car keys and twirl them around my finger. My other hand runs though my long and thick brown hair, that I had styled to perfection before coming here.
"And I'm Luke, let's go." he laughs at his own little joke before opening the door for me and following after.
I know this area well, I live just down the road in my one bedroom apartment building. I know exactly where Starbucks is.
"Starbucks?" I ask him as I pull into the parking lot and turn off the car.
"I said so earlier." We start to walk towards the entrance,"I can pay." he quickly adds.
"It's no big deal," I shake my clutch at him,"and I'm sure you can since you are world famous." I smirk at him. I'm glad I moved to London, I still have my American accent though.
The small coffee shop is dimly lit, with wooden tables scattered through out the tiny space, the barista looks like he's half asleep. I read his name tag, "Kevin" I say under my breath. Luke looks at me confused and angry.
"You know this guy?" his fists clenches. *is he always like this?* Luke's beautiful blue eyes are trained on my green eyes.
"No, I don't." I reach across the counter and ring the bell, startling Kevin.
"I'll take a black coffee." Luke says quickly then looks to me.
"I'll take my regular." I say, Kevin nods before scurrying off to make our order.
"He knows your regular?" once again Luke sends daggers with his eyes towards the poor boy who's pouring coffee into their signature cups.
"All the workers here do, I live just down the street." I say, taking my drink and swiping my credit card before Luke can say anything.
"We should go there then." His lips turned into a mischievous smirk.
"You aren't getting laid tonight boy, at least not by me." I don't know where this sassiness came from, earlier today I was like a weeping willow, crying that the person I dreamed of meeting was in front of me, now I'm the sassiest thing in the area right now.
"Awh, babe!" Luke laughed, I pulled a confused smile before starting to laugh with him,"Let's go before anyone sees us." his tone was suddenly serious. We had made our way to the car before someone was watching us for a little bit longer than normal. I ushered Luke to move a little quicker but he acted as if everything was normal. I hopped into the drivers seat, as soon as Luke shut his door I peeled out of the parking lot and right to the parking garage where I park my car every day.
"Let's get inside," I pull out my apartment key right before we dash across the not so busy road.
"Yes let's go." he suddenly walked a little slower, his arm snaking around my waist.
"You must be drunk, remember what I said earlier?" I say quickly and he nods, his arm still around my waist.
"Let's get inside Rubix Cube." Here we go with the nicknames again.
