Aria
"I'm sorry."I say laughing while unlocking my locker and putting my books away. I stop to catch my breath. "You want me to what?" Hunter rolls his eyes. "I want you to tutor me." I start laughing again. "You done?" I laugh for a few moments more before taking a deep breath. "Okay. I'm done now."
"Finally." Hunter rolls his eyes again. "So will you?"
"Will I what?" Hunter puts a hand on his forehead takes a deep breath then smoothes his hair back. "Funny. Real funny Carson."
"Tell me something I don't know." I say sarcastically. "I'm being serious I really need your help."
"I find that really hard to believe." I say while grabbing the books I need and closing my locker. "Why is that?"
"Well for starters. I know you have some of the best grades in the school. How I will never know. Second why me? You literally have how many girls fall at your feet? On a daily basis might I add. Ask them."
"Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe I get tired of people who fall at me feet? And maybe just maybe I want the one who doesn't want me?"
"Bummer." I saw grabbing my other books and closing my locker. "Come on please."
"Ask your brother." Hunter stops and suddenly looks really pissed. "Yeah no." I want to ask why, but realize he's clenching and unclenching his fists and think better of it. He's quiet and so very still. He's staring into the distance looking, not seeing. A few moments later he comes back to reality and looks back to me. "It could be really fun."
"Really? How?" He smiles.
"Is that a yes?" Hunter says as I start walking away. "No." he quickly catches up to me "You didn't say no either." I look out the corner of my eye to see him smiling and can't help, but smile too.
...The rest of the day is a blur. I was so lost in my own world that I don't even remember actually saying yes to Hunter, but apparently I did. We had agreed to meet up this weekend. In other words tomorrow. If I'm being completely honest I'm not completely upset about the fact that I'll be around him this weekend.
When I knocked on the door and Hunters mom answered you could tell she was equally shocked and overjoyed to see me. "Aria hi. I didn't expect to see you. Not that I'm not happy to see you. I'm just surprised."
"No, no that's alright I'm a little surprised myself" I laugh awkwardly. "Well Hunters upstairs."
"How did you?"
"He mentioned you'd come by. Honestly I didn't believe him." he did. Did he huh. "Still the same room?" I asked knowing full well it was. "Still the same room." I'm startled when I hear Mr Reed voice as he comes down the stairs. "Sorry didn't mean to startle you."
"No worries. I just didn't hear you coming."
"Do you need anything? Something to eat, drink maybe?"
"No thank you Mrs Reed I should be fine."
"Alright then. Why don't you head upstairs so long dear." I nod and head upstairs to Hunters room. I find his door unlocked and him sitting by his window staring out. I just stand there for a few minutes admiring him. What am I doing he's Hunter! Snap out of it. When I finish scolding myself I decided to finally let him know I'm here. "Knock knock."
