The clinic's waiting room was still and quiet, a stark contrast to the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside Ava. She sat between Lucifer and Alastor, her small body tense, clutching her stuffed toy in one hand. Her other arm, still confined in the bulky cast, rested awkwardly on her lap. It had been weeks of struggles—spilled juice, trouble getting dressed, and even bathroom mishaps, all because of that cast. But today, it was finally coming off.

Lucifer noticed the little frown on her face and leaned down with a warm smile. "Excited to finally have both hands free, sweetheart?" he asked, his voice soft but reassuring.

Ava gave a small nod, but her eyes betrayed her nervousness. "What if I mess up again after it's gone?" she asked quietly, glancing down at the cast that had been both a burden and, in a strange way, a crutch.

Alastor knelt beside her, his sharp red eyes softening. "You've been so strong, Ava. And you won't mess up. With both hands free, you'll be more independent than ever. No more struggles with the bathroom or changing your clothes." He winked. "No more juice spills either."

That made Ava giggle a little, though she still squeezed her toy tight.

The nurse called her name, and the three of them stood, walking toward the examination room together. Lucifer gave her a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder as they entered, and Alastor stayed close by, never letting go of her hand.

The doctor greeted them with a warm smile, his tools laid out on the counter. "Alright, Miss Ava," he said kindly, wheeling over the saw designed to cut through casts. "You've been a real trooper with this cast. We'll get it off in no time, and you'll be good as new."

Ava's wide eyes were fixed on the saw, her grip on Alastor's hand tightening. "It's loud, but it won't hurt," the doctor assured her, showing her the gentle vibrations before beginning. "You'll just feel a little buzzing, okay?"

Lucifer knelt down to her eye level, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "You've been so brave through all of this. Just a little longer, and you'll have your arm back."

Ava swallowed her nerves and nodded, her eyes still focused on the saw as it hummed to life.

The saw's vibrations buzzed through her arm, but with both of her daddies at her side, Ava felt safe. She barely flinched, though the strange sensation made her squirm a little. Alastor squeezed her hand, his smile soft and full of pride.

Piece by piece, the cast came off. Finally, the doctor peeled away the last bit of plaster, revealing her small arm beneath. It was a bit thinner and paler than the other, but it was free.

"There you go!" the doctor announced with a smile. "How does it feel?"

Ava stared at her arm in awe, lifting it slowly, flexing her fingers with newfound freedom. She moved it in a small circle, feeling the air against her skin for the first time in weeks. A bright smile spread across her face. "It feels...weird, but good!" she said, laughing.

Lucifer grinned, watching her excitement bubble up. "No more bathroom mishaps," he teased gently, making her giggle. "You're officially back to being the independent Ava we know and love."

Alastor nodded proudly, wrapping an arm around her. "And no more getting your sleeve stuck while trying to change." His voice held a playful lilt, but the warmth in his eyes spoke of how proud he truly was.

Ava beamed, holding her newly freed arm up triumphantly. "I can do it all by myself again!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her feet.

After a few instructions from the doctor about strengthening her arm, they were out in the sunshine once more, Ava practically skipping beside her daddies. The heavy weight of the cast was gone, and with it, her frustrations. She felt lighter, freer, and most importantly, capable again.

As they walked, Ava smiled up at them, her heart full. It had been hard, but now she had her independence back—both arms ready to take on the world, with her daddies by her side, just like always.
