Chapter 5: the movies

On Wednesday I finished all of my homework early so that I could go to the movies. I didn't really have a plan to get to the movies, so I told mom I was going to the grocery store to get some milk. I took off on the narrow crooked sidewalk that had always seemed so crooked. And for some reason I ran faster than I did before I got that "scratch" on the playground. I think it was affecting me in a way that was good. And I had felt like I was being watched. I focused on the cracks in the sidewalk trying to step on the parts that where whole. Before I knew it I was at the movie theater lobby, waiting for Kathrine. I sat on an old rugged bench with gum stuck to one of the arm rests. Then I saw Kathrine enter. I bought a big bowl of popcorn and met Kathrine at the bench I was at.

" hey, sweetie," she said in her soft sweet voice she always uses.

" ready for skyfall?" I said taking a handful of popcorn.

" don't eat all the popcorn now, silly"

" let's go get front seats." I say trying to get away from the fact that I am eating all the popcorn before the movie. We enter the room that has the sign that has "skyfall" on it.
