(Anonymous person's POV)

I felt a cold rush of satisfaction as I counted the bills. I handed over the wad of cash, my fingers tight on the roll for a brief second before finally letting it go.

My nails tapped rhythmically against the table, the click-click sound filling the tension between us.

You know what to do," I said, my voice low and serious. "Keep Adeline away from Damon."

Lucas gave a small, eerie smile, pocketing the money as he pushed off the wall, "Don't worry, B- sorry, you told me not to say your name. I've got this."

It wasn't just about getting Damon's attention anymore—I needed this. I'd been obsessed from the very first day I saw him, watching him from afar, disliking how Adeline had wormed her way into his life.

The plan had to be flawless.

"Make sure she's hooked on you," Blair said, a little smile forming as Lucas stood up, ready to play his part.

Blair watched as Lucas left, her mind swirling with what would happen next. The image of Damon liking another girl made her blood boil. That wasn't going to happen. Not if she had anything to do with it.

[Lucas leaves]

I've got everything planned.

Lucas is the perfect pawn—quiet, unnoticed, and desperate for attention.

He'll play his part well, slowly pulling Adeline into his web, away from Damon, where she doesn't belong.

No one would suspect him, just some shy transfer student with harmless intentions.

But I know better.

I chose him for a reason.

And if he manages to destroy her in the process?

All the better.
