In the bright lit aisles of the local grocery store, Alex was causally browsing for some snacks when she felt a presence nearby.
She turned to find a tall guy, probably in his late twenties, with a charming smile and an air of confidence.
He had tousled dark hair and a laid back style, wearing a fitted T-shirt and some jeans. "Hey, what's up" he said leaning causally against the shelf.
"Not much, just grabbing some snacks for movie night," Alex replied returning his smile. "Nice! You can't go wrong with snacks," he said, glancing at the items in her cart. "What's your go-to".
"Definitely chips and salsa. Can't resist it", she replied, holding up a bad of tortilla chips for emphasis.
"Good choice", he nodded his gaze lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary. "I'm Jay, by the way".
"Alex," she introduced herself, intrigued by his laid-back vibe. As the continued chatting, Alex felt a connection building, a light chemistry sparking between them.
They exchanged playful banter about their favorite snacks, laughter filling in the air as they moved down the aisle together.
After a few minutes, Jay hesitated then took a step closer. "So, I know we just met, but I think you're really cool. Can I get your number" he asked his tone causal yet sincere.
Alex raised an eyebrow, surprised but flattered. "You want my number"?
"Yeah, I mean why not we could hang out sometime. I could you show you some good snacks spots," he suggested with a grin.
She contemplated for a moment, unsure if she should give him her number so easily. But there was something about him that felt genuine. "Sure, why not" she said reaching for her phone.
Jay quickly pulled out his phone, and exchanged the numbers, their fingers brushing for a brief moment.
That sent a small through Alex. Looking forward to it, Alex, he said a playful smile on his lips. "Me too Jay just don't have me waiting too long," she teased. Felling a rush of excitement at the prospect of getting of getting to know him better.
