"What, so you're mates again?" Ally asks, standing in the doorway to the office.

"Kind of, I'm not really sure." Harry replies, his eyes desperately trying to make sense of the spreadsheet in front of him. "Shouldn't you be working?"

"I'd rather interrogate you about your blossoming relationship with lover boy."

"Louis and there's nothing blossoming."

"Right, okay." Ally replies teasingly. "Harry and Louis, sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I"

"Ally! I love you but piss off or I'll fire you." Harry says as seriously as possible.

"You would never." She says, her eyes narrowing playfully.

"Oh yeah? Try me." Harry fires back, raising an eyebrow. Ally raises one right back at him, completely undettered.

"Well, forgive me for giving a shit about your happiness." She says, stepping into the office and letting the door close behind her.

"Ally, you're just adamant that I'm still in love with Louis and-"

"You're not? Harry, come on."

"I'm not!"

Ally hums quietly, sitting on the edge of the desk. Harry watches her face with as steely of an expression as he can muster.

"Okay, I admit I'm taking the piss but surely this can't be a good idea."

"Ally-"

"No, listen to me." She starts, holding her finger up. "I ship you two until the day I die but I saw how much it wrecked you."

"Are you and Niall conspiring?" Harry asks, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Niall? No, why?"

"Doesn't matter." He mutters, not wanting to get into his reasoning as to why that's most definitely a possibility.

"Okay then." She says simply, hopping off the desk. "Love you, H. Don't worry, you'll have a break when Tom comes in later."

"What do you mean?" Harry asks, leaning back and pressing his back against the chair.

"He's not so invested with the loverboy saga as I am." She says with a smile, making her way over to the door.

"You discuss it?"

"Yeah, it's very entertaining actually." She laughs as she opens the door. "Don't worry, I'm leaving soon."

"You'll definitely send me postcards full of the same shit, though." Harry says with a sigh, his smile giving away his amusement.

"Shit! You sussed me out, it was gonna be a surprise!" She laughs before blowing a kiss to him and slipping out of the room.

Harry lets his head fall back with a sigh, it's almost as if nobody understands why he and Louis would be friends again. Yeah, the whole group are close but he and Louis were different. They were best friends from the very start; inseparable in fact.

He understands the concern but he is an adult after all and he just wishes that people would ignore the glaringly obvious stint of them dating and remember the friendship that was the base of everything.

Harry looks at his textbook that's on his lap. He's sat in Louis' room, cross legged on the bed next to him, trying his hardest to focus on the work he needs to do but they're three hours into their studying and Harry's brain hurts.

"Lou?"

"Yeah?" Louis asks, looking up from his own textbook. "What's up?"

"Why did you start uni later than most of us?" Harry asks, watching as Louis laughs slightly and closes his book, placing it beside him.
