CHAPTER 4 - BROTHER?

"Welcome, welcome! Long time no see, right?" - V2 spoke from its throne, tilting its head smugly and looking V1 up and down as the blue machine stood before it.

V1 glared down at the red robot with a quiet growl of its engine, noticing V2's slight changes. A new arm, huh? Something to steal once more... This is gonna be fun.

V2 noticed V1 eyeing its arm, getting a bit nervous. It wasn't planning on losing a limb again, not this time.

"Something caught your eye?" - V2 spoke, a hint of aggression beneath all the smug. It stood up and stepped up to V1, towering over it, being just a head taller.

V1 took a step back, looking up at the other and staring into the piercing, golden lens which glowed with an eerie soulless aura.

The two kept staring into each other's souls, having a menacing stand off. Just then, something unbelievable happened.

V1 dropped its weapon - in fact - it dropped its whole damn arsenal onto the floor.

"What the f-" - V2 took a startled step back, both surprised by what V1 just did and slightly impressed by the amount of weapons laid out in between the two.

V2 looked from the floor to the blue machine.

"Are you feeling good?" - it asked, a hint of genuine concern in its usually monotone voice.

V1 could only nod in response. Not much of a talker, huh..?

"What are you doing? We're meant to fight!" - V2 scoffed, pulling out its marksman and pointing it right at V1's optic.
"Fight me, coward!" - it encouraged.

Yet V1 would do nothing. It stood and watched as V2 shouted and threatened to kill it.

Soon enough the red machine gave up, seeing as V1 was being stubborn and remaining silent and unmoving. It didn't feel like killing the other machine, finding it simply boring to just shoot it in the head and eliminate it. It needed adrenaline- or just plain entertainment.

"What's the plan here, huh? Is this some trap?" - V2 looked around the place, feeling paranoid all of a sudden.
"Speak to me, V1!" - it walked up to V1, shaking it by the shoulders.

V1 let out an annoyed whirr, swatting at V2's hands. "I don't want to fight" - the blue robot announced, its voice echoing thru the vast space of the throne room.

The seconds of silence dragged on, feeling like hours before the other machine finally broke it, speaking up.

"What? Have you lost your mi-" - V2 was cut off by V1 grabbing its hand and putting it onto the shining, blue metal of its own chest. V2 momentarily froze, not sure what to make of this situation.

"I've cause you harm... Way too much than I should've. I want to go back to the good times, to be brothers like we used to. Remember?" - V1 began. "We could join each other in the venture through hell... We can make a great team and fight against anything! Together we can make it... Because I don't think I will alone"

V2 stared wide-eyed at V1. What the fuck was it saying??? Did it go crazy??? Did it accidentally drink wine instead of blood??? Or maybe spent an excessive amount of time in the sun???

"V1, are you sure this is you? Are you high?" - V2 pulled its hand away from V1 and looked at the other machine as if it was crazy. "What the fuck are you saying!?"

"Come on, bro. I know you're desperate to get out of here just like me." - V1 kept encouraging the other.

"You think after ALL the things you've done to me... You think I'm gonna trust you just like that?! You're a maniac, V1! Maniac!!!" - V2 shouted in response, its loud voice echoing through the room.

"How about we make a deal?" - V1 inquired, too stubborn to let it go.

V2 eyed its brother suspiciously for a good moment before eventually replying. - "A deal, you say? You've got my attention"

"I won't steal any more of your arms" - V1's optic gleamed adorably as it stared up at V2 with a hopeful look.

V2 rolled its own optic in annoyance, but the deal was really tempting. - "fine, deal" - both machines shook hands before suddenly V1 pulled the other into a quick hug.

   "I missed you..."
