Chapter 4

Lexie whipped around. Wanting to know who said that. But when she saw who was behind her, she gasped and pressed herself against her locker.

It was that boy.

The one with the ice blue eyes. The one who had maybe felt here enhancing.

"Hi...um... Hi" she rambled wondering why the boy came to talk to her.

" I'm so sorry about earlier, I wasn't looking where I was going."

" I'm sorry to I wasn't looking where I was going either"the boy said, rubbing the back of his head, as if he was indecisive about what he was going to say next.

" I'm Keefe. Keefe Sencen." He said holding out his hand.

She didn't want to be rude, but she just, couldn't touch him

She said "I'm Lexie Ruewen." Not shaking his hand.

" I Haven't seen you before. Are you knew here?" He asked putting his hand down.

Well, at least she knows she did a good job at not being noticed.

"No, I've been going here for a while. I just don't like to much attention so I keep my head down."

Why was she telling him this!? And why was he making her so nervous?

" oh, I see." Keefe said

"What grade are you in?" He asked

Why is he asking so many questions?

"I'm in grade ten." Lexie replied. "You?"

"I'm in grade eleven but I skipped a grade." He answered

"Cool." Not really knowing what to say. She just really wanted to get out of this conversa-

" Your different, aren't you." He asks, making Lexie's palms sweat.

"What do you mean?" She said, trying to stay calm.

" I mean your just different. Like your eyes. I've never seen eyes that color before." Keefe said

"Well I've never seen eyes like yours either." She told him

As an empath that can sense emotions without physical touch, she could feel his emotions spiking like crazy. But he did a good job at hiding it physically

" your also different." She said, not really sure why. His emotions feel to complex for them to be human...

" you seem confused." He told her. Even though she knew for a fact that she didn't look confused. That could only mean... No. This boy couldn't be an... She couldn't finish that thought. It was crazy! There was no way. Though that could explain how he felt her enhancing...

And now Keefe was looking at her weird. Like he was deciding something

She could violate the rules of telepathy. But she didn't want to be that person

"Okay, I'm gonna show you something. But you can't freak out." He said.

Uh oh

That didn't sound good."okay." She said her voice shakier than she wanted.

Keefe nodded. He looked around. Then, without warning he shoved his arm through the wall.
