Emily Wolf
Training for the death competition ended for the day a few hours before dinner time. We were allowed to go back to our rooms before we were called for dinner. Now there was only three days until the competition.
Like I really cared. I knew that all of the Magical Creatures hated me for putting them all through this but I also didn't care. I didn't get a chance to kill the king and queen at the Battle of the Werewolves but when I get one during the competition, I'll finish what I started three months ago.
Maybe I could do it right now, I thought, a wicked grin slowly spreading across my face. Everyone was settling in for the night especially the chosen representatives to participate in the competition to the death.
I sat up in bed. There was nothing else to do except sleep or ponder about tomorrow or about today's events or both. I felt Eden's presence as she knew I was cooking up a plan for revenge.
"Go on Emily," Eden's voice whispered in my mind. "I'm right here with you for your revenge!"
I suddenly wondered why Qwen wasn't here with Eden. "Where's Qwen?" I asked Eden. "Why isn't she here with us?"
"She's not here because she's weak!" Eden spat angrily. "She still thinks I'm still trying to manipulate you into doing my revenge!"
"Are you?" I asked just out of curiosity.
I found it quite strange that Eden only came to visit me when I was out for revenge. When I wasn't, Eden left me alone and Qwen never comes to talk to me in my mind like Eden does. Did Qwen even like me? I knew I had killed Eden and Qwen the day we were born but still Eden was more involved with me than Qwen was.
"No! Of course not!" Eden exclaimed in my mind. "Like I said, Qwen's weak! You killed her first the day we were born!"
"As you keep saying," I said with a hint of annoyance. I still wasn't sure if I should believe her or not.
"It's true!" Eden insisted. "Let me show you!"
"No!" I said, remembering how painful it was when my mind was tormented by memories and sounds of babies screaming. I didn't want to go through that again. "Besides, we're wasting time," I went on. "If you show me now, who knows how long time would pass. No. We try to get the king and queen tonight then you can show me which of you I killed first."
I winced, not sure if I was even willing to have Eden show me once again my birth. After Mommy died, the torture of my birth dream turned into the Battle of the Werewolves. But now both memories were fading. As long as I don't go in the castle or back to my childhood apartment, I'll be fine. I was risking the healthy state of my mind by going back to the castle. Back to the murder scene where Father killed my Mommy and then I killed my Father for what he did.
"Okay," Eden said after a moment of silence. "Let's go finish your revenge."
I nodded with agreement before I closed my eyes and disappeared.
...
When I reappeared again, I was standing in the Northern Kingdom's castle's Great Hall. The plain hall with only the king's throne far at the end now had stains of dry blood on the floor and the walls. If there were any soldiers who died, they had since cleared the bodies out.
