Hot and harsh,is my environment. It truly has effected me as a flower. My roots are covered in dry soil. They are hoping that today, might be the day,the rain finally nourish's us.
It's sad really.Time moves agonizingly slow as we wait and wait.Praying and begging, as we sit still under clear skies. The same ones that laugh at my lack of growth.
Movement catches my attention, it's an injured bird walking around in search of food.On queue I feel movement on my body. Its a lizard crawling between my spines (glochids). As the bird takes notice of the lizard,it gets lower to the ground preparing to take flight.
When it takes off its broken wing cracks and it falls down into my spines(glochids). The injured bird cries in pain as blood pools around its wounds yet it still struggles. Although the struggle was for nothing because the bird couldn't get itself free.
The bird passed away a week later. The rot tainting the carbon dioxide I breathe and forcing my bud to close.
I slept for a long while waiting for the smell to leave but when I woke I found myself fully opened in the rain. The rain had come finally! I was so overjoyed,I didn't even notice the rot sinking into my roots and tainting me.
It didn't matter that much though because I myself have been rotting for a long time on the inside.
