The next morning, as early as 7 a.m, Leona and her friends had already packed up everything and were ready to check out.

Leona wouldn't have minded staying longer, but Catrina and Krissy still had their families to get back to.

They'd definitely get in trouble if they stayed away too long.

Besides, their plan wasn't even to stay overnight.

Last night, when Krissy and Catrina told their parents they had to stay the night, their parents were really worried.

If they stayed just a bit closer, Leona was sure Catrina's parents would have come to pick her up, even if it was the middle of the night.

Catrina, being the only child, was obviously the apple of her parents' eye.

"Miss Leona, wait a moment."

Leona and her friends, who were already stepping out of the hotel, turned around when they heard a female staff member calling her.

"Ooh, yes, that me. Why?"

Leona asked, a little surprised that the staff knew her name since they hadn't introduced themselves at all.

Yesterday, after picking up the access cards at the lobby, they'd gone straight to their room.

And it was Grace who had gone down to the lobby after that, and she hadn't mentioned anyone's name.

"Are you Miss Leona?"

The staff asked again, just to confirm.

"Yeah, that's me."

"One of your friends dropped by earlier and asked me to give this to you."

The staff handed Leona two brown paper bags.

"Huh? What's this?"

Leona hesitated as she took them.

"Not sure. But it looks like food and drinks."

Leona opened the bags to check.

There were four croissants and four cups of hot chocolate inside

There were four croissants and four cups of hot chocolate inside.

Catrina peeked into the bag too.

"Oh?"

Catrina pulled out a small note from the bag.

They both read it together.

"Hi, good morning. How's your day today? Hope you had a good stay last night.

Since you're leaving so early, I thought you guys wouldn't have time for breakfast, so here's something for the road. Hope you like it.

Oh, and before I forget, thanks so much for yesterday.
