The next day, Taehyung awoke to the soft rays of sunlight filtering through his curtains. He couldn't shake the memory of Jungkook's confession or the way his heart raced every time they were together. As he got ready for the day, he felt a flutter of anticipation mixed with irritation. Why was he even thinking about Jungkook this way?
Later, he fo in cafe, trying to focus on his notes of customer reviews, when he heard the familiar jingle of the door. His heart skipped as he glanced up to see Jungkook sauntering in, his usual playful grin plastered on his face.
“Hey, Tae!” Jungkook called out, striding over to Taehyung’s table. “Mind if I join you?”
Taehyung hesitated but then nodded, trying to suppress the smile tugging at his lips. Jungkook plopped down, his energy infectious. They talked and laughed, the chemistry between them undeniable. Jungkook leaned closer, his arm brushing against Taehyung's. Each accidental touch sent electric sparks through Taehyung's body, igniting feelings he’d rather ignore.
“Do you remember the first time we fought?” Jungkook asked, a teasing glint in his eyes.
“Yeah, you were such a brat,” Taehyung replied, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably.
“Look who’s talking,” Jungkook countered, his voice softening. “But you know what? I’m glad we fought. It brought us here.”
Taehyung met Jungkook's gaze, their laughter fading into a moment of silence. Jungkook reached across the table, his fingers brushing Taehyung’s hand gently. “I really mean it, Tae. I want you to be mine.”
Taehyung’s heart raced as their eyes locked, his walls beginning to crumble. “Maybe… maybe I could consider it.” Jungkook’s smile widened, and in that moment, Taehyung felt hope blossom—a chance for something beautiful to flourish between them.
As they continued to chat, Jungkook leaned back in his chair, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You know, since I come to your house all the time, how about a little challenge? You should come to my place tonight.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, feigning annoyance. “You think I’d just waltz into your house like that?”
“Why not?” Jungkook grinned. “I promise I won’t bite. Unless you want me to.” He winked, laughter dancing in his voice
Taehyung rolled his eyes but couldn’t suppress a smile. “Fine! I’ll come over tonight."
“Great! I’ll make sure to have some snacks ready,” Jungkook replied, his excitement palpable.
Later that day, as they walked through the university campus, Jungkook spotted Jimin by the fountain, chatting with some friends. He approached him, and they exchanged pleasantries.
“Hey, Jimin! What’s up?” Jungkook called out, waving.
“Just soaking up the sun,” Jimin replied with a smile. “I wanted to let you know I’m heading to Seoul soon to join a football club.”
Jungkook’s eyes lit up. “Congratulations! That’s amazing!”
“Thanks! I’m really excited about it,” Jimin said, though a hint of sadness lingered in his voice. “I’m going to miss you, though.”
Jungkook smiled, feeling a twinge of nostalgia. He thought about how things had changed for him—how his heart now raced for Taehyung instead of lingering on memories with Jimin. “I’ll miss you too, but you have to follow your dreams.”
