Once upon a time, on a dark night, a girl named Lilith lived in a mostly deserted neighbourhood. Lilith had a deep passion for ghost-hunting and exploring abandoned buildings for signs of life. One day, she decided to revisit this abandoned home. When she went back into the house there was a witch hat, lying on the couch. She looked at the witch hat, very confused. There wasn't a hat there all the other times she came here. She decided to walk away and pretend it was always there. Moving into the next room she heard a big thud. Lilith chose to ignore it and keep looking for signs of life through the house. After a while, she decided to go back into the living room. When she entered the living room the witch hat was nowhere to be seen. Lilith looked around heart beating faster each second. Just then, there was a big gust of wind, blowing all the curtains around. A bunch of dust blew around, obstructing her vision. The dust began to swirl up, into a tornado-like shape. The dust started to fall, revealing a dark figure, wearing the witch hat. The figure turned out to be a witch.

The witch began to speak, still looking in the other direction, "Who dares enter my home?" Her voice echoed around the room.

"I-I, I uh, didn't know! I'm so sorry! I'm leaving!" Lilith says panicking.

"I don't think so. Not so fast. You're going to stay right here" The witch says turning around menacingly. Lilith turns around as quickly as possible trying to run to the door, until she feels a hand wrap around her wrist. "I said, you're not going anywhere," the witch says as her nose scrunches up. Her hands are freezing as they begin to grip tighter. The witch slammed Lilith against the wall, taking her cape off and wrapping it around Lilith. "My name is Circe. Be careful, searching around in abandoned houses is not safe. I'm sorry if I scared you, I was just trying to help."

"That's okay, but what do you mean it's not safe? What's going to happen?" Lilith says with worry in her voice.

"Have you never heard of my brother? I heard he was very popular around here. His name is Alastair."

"What did Alastair do?" Lilith asks with fear in her tone.

"He took some people that were found ghost-hunting just like you. No one knows what happened to them, but they were never seen again."

The fear began to spread through Lilith's whole body, as goosebumps travelled up her spine. "So that is where my little brother is? Somewhere with your brother?" Lilith says trying not to let the anger take over.

"Is your little brother's name Tim?" Circe says nervously.

"Yea? What happened to him?" Lilith says starting to worry.

"Well, Alastair took him as his own. Tim is one of his favourite assistants. They do a lot of stuff together. Tim loves him, and they go everywhere together."

"So, he has my brother? As an assistant?" Lilith says as the anger begins to rise.

Circe begins to stress, "I suggest you calm down; I have a weird feeling that my brother is nearby. It's weird, but we have a bit of telepathy." She takes off her witch hat and sets it on Lilith's head, "Your brother won't come back, take this to remember me, go home."

"Bu-" Lilith can't even finish her sentence before Circe pushes her out of the house. Lilith trips over her feet as she gets pushed out the door. "Wait! You can't just-" She tries to yell to Circe, but it is too late, Circe already closed the door. As Lilith is walking backwards, she trips over something. She falls and hits her head; she looks over to see that what she tripped on is a pumpkin.

Standing above her is a strange-looking man and her brother Tim. The man begins to laugh, "Oh, Lilith, you've fallen right into my trap. Circe wasn't there to help you; she was there to help me. Now you're finally within my grasp." Lilith begins to realize that the man is Alastair. Circe knew the whole time and was trying to trick her. Lilith is in disbelief, as she feels so betrayed. She stands up quickly and tries to run away. Just as she starts to run, she feels a cold, grimy hand grab her arm. The hand pulls her down to the ground, where she hits her head. Just then, everything goes dark.

The next she knows; she is waking up in her bed. 'It was a dream; it was all just a dream.' she thinks to herself. She turns her head to the right and sees a cape, and witch hat, on the ground.

The end, or is it?
