As the festivities wound down, Alex and Yarfa finally found a moment to themselves. He took her hand and led her to the balcony, where they could overlook the city lights.
“I can’t believe you’re mine,” Alex whispered, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Main tumhe kabhi chhodunga nahi. Tum meri ho, aur tumhein mujhe chhodne ka koi haq nahi hai.” (I’ll never let you go. You’re mine, and you have no right to leave me.)
