×Taesan's pov×
Taesan stormed out of the villa, his heart pounding in his chest, a whirlwind of emotions swirling inside him.
He practically ran, needing to escape the suffocating weight of the revelation. The crisp evening air did little to soothe his agitated mind.
He burst through the front door of his home, his arrival a jarring interruption to the quiet evening.
His mother was there, standing in the living room, a worried frown marring her usually cheerful face.
Her eyes widened in surprise as she saw her son, his face flushed and his expression a mixture of anger and hurt.
Taesan, instead of offering any explanation or greeting, simply looked at his mother with a deep, crushing disappointment.
The way she looked at him, her concern, felt like a betrayal. He saw it in her eyes, a silent confirmation of her involvement in the secret. A secret that had rocked his world and left him feeling utterly lost and confused.
Without a word, Taesan turned on his heels and dashed towards his room. He slammed the door shut with a loud bang, the sound echoing through the house, and quickly locked it,his hand shaking as he fumbled with the key.
He slumped onto his bed, the soft fur of his black cat, Loony, a comforting weight against his leg. She nuzzled against him, purring softly but Taesan barely registered it.
His mind raced, replaying the conversation with his grandmother, the shock, the anger, the fear. What if this was just the tip of the iceberg? What if his mother held other secrets? What other truths were hidden behind the facade of their normal life?
Taesan buried his face in his hands, the silent sobs building within him. His mind was a whirlwind of confusion, hurt, and a gnawing fear.
He thought back to his grandmother, her stern pronouncements, the way she had spoken of destiny and duty.
It was all too much, too overwhelming. The pressure from school, the relentless teasing, the constant struggle to feel like he fit in. And now this. A soft knock on the door broke through his thoughts.
"Taesan, honey, are you alright?"
His mother's voice, laced with concern, was barely a whisper. A whisper that annoyed Taesan.
"Go away, Mom."
He choked out, his voice trembling. Another knock was heard, a little more insistent this time.
"Please, let me in. I want to talk."
"Leave me alone!"
Taesan shouted, his voice cracking. He couldn't bear the thought of facing her, of potentially seeing more deception in her eyes.
Tears welled up in his eyes, blurring the room. He clutched Loony tighter, the cat's soft purr a feeble attempt to soothe the turmoil within him. He was overwhelmed, pressured, confused.
He felt like a puppet with invisible strings, his life no longer his own. He was just Taesan, a boy who wanted a normal life, a boy who now had to face a future he never imagined, a future filled with responsibility and a title he didn't want.
The weight of the world, of a country he never heard before, it seemed, had landed squarely on his teenage shoulders.
He buried his face in the soft fur of Loony, letting the cat's warmth soothe him for a moment. He felt so utterly alone, so lost. He was Taesan, a simple boy who just wanted a normal life. He just wanted to be accepted, loved for who he was, not for a title or a destiny he never asked for. He just wanted to be free.
