I stand, dumbfounded, lost.

Yes, lost.

In order to create the stupid campfire, we needed wood, and the cabin doesn't have any spare so we, in conclusion, have to get our own.

In the forest.

Creepy, wide, tall forest.

Did I mention it's getting dark?

Oh, and, we're on a pretty tall, steep mountain? Yeah. Me too.

Me and my sister were together at first, having seen how all horror movies end with people split up, but lo and behold, we've been magically split up.

Great, just great!

I whine to myself quietly, getting that familiar, horrible prickly sensation. I think im going to be sick.

You can only see so far through the trees, and if it makes anything worse, it appears like a labyrinth of illusions, trees, repeated. Like a maze, you can barely tell where you're going. I feel like an idiot for agreeing to my sister. Obviously you'd have to live here for a very, very long time to even have an idea of where to go.

My head begins to throb and I can't help the shiver that travels through my body, rendering me chilly and nervous.

I spin around in slow circles, letting out a squeal when I back into a branch, the instrument in my chest beating rapidly.

Okay, so, I don't like this.

I bite my lip, my amber eyes flitting in every other direction. I decide to throw all caution out of the window, and begin calling out my sister's name.

"Cece! Cece, where are you?!" I cry out helplessly. After a few unanswered calls, im rendered speechless when a snap of a twig takes my breath away.

I go very, very still.

I would play dead but im standing up, so that wouldn't really work out.

I can feel the ominous presence of something near. I silently pray it's a deer, and that my life will be spared.

I gulp quietly, my heart pounding in my ears like a flood of water, muting the sounds of the night around me.

Just wondrous, it's night.

That always ends well.

My head snaps to the left as I hear the crunch of a leaf against the grainy soil, and let out a sigh of relief at the sight of a..white bunny rabbit?

A warm breath hits the flesh of my neck, the large puff paralyzing me still.

Oh sweet mother of-

I watch as the old vehicle pulls into the driveway of the cabin, the two dots that mimic pupils in my empty sockets trailing over the two human females that peel themselves from the transportation machine.

I let out a puff of warm air.

It has been long since there have been visitors, very long.

I observe quietly, in the shadows of my trees, in the abyss of my darkness, watching. Waiting.

Surveying.

One, of the two, is fairly average in female height, in human perception. Slim, short hair that glimmers in the faint light. Creamy ivory fabricating the hue that complexes her complexion. Beside her stands the other; this with wondrous, cascading curls to the curve of her hips. The hue of her eyes fascinating, the chocolate of her long locks mouthwatering, the brown in her complexion stifling.

She looks delicious.

There is no sound as I step back, the large talons of my feet scarring as they drag along the soft soil, bent to my will as I trail within the forest.

My forest.
