After the chaos and intensity of the last conversation, the Great Hall was filled with a profound silence. The weight of what had been revealed settled heavily on the students and staff alike. This time, however, it was a different kind of silence-not one borne of fear or oppression, but of contemplation. Questions had finally been raised, doubts had finally surfaced, and for the first time in his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter felt something unfamiliar, something almost forgotten-hope.
He sat at the Gryffindor table, thinking about everything that had transpired since the last glimpse of alternate universe. He thought about Esmeralda Black and how her voice rang out like a clarion call for justice. Her words had done more in a few minutes than any of his own had managed over the past year. People had listened-really listened. The way she questioned, the way she methodically laid out the facts, had pierced through the veil of propaganda that the Ministry had so carefully woven.
Harry's hand absentmindedly traced the scar etched into his skin by Umbridge's quill. For months, he had been called a liar, a madman seeking attention. Every time he'd tried to tell people the truth, they had turned their backs on him. But now, seeing the way the students stood up, the way even some of the adults began to question, made him feel something stir in his chest-maybe, just maybe, things could change.
He glanced at Sirius, who was watching him with concern. Sirius had always believed him, but even he hadn't been able to stop what was happening. Now, with the truth laid bare and the Ministry's lies crumbling, Harry saw the faintest glimmer of hope in his godfather's eyes as well.
Harry's thoughts raced. Who would've thought that all it would take for people to start questioning the Ministry's lies was a glimpse of an alternate universe? He thought back to the calm and confident way Esmeralda Black had presented the facts, how she had cut through the deceit without raising her voice. It was as if all anyone had needed was a push-a single, undeniable truth to make them question everything they had been fed.
Across the hall, every person was lost in their own thoughts when suddenly, the screen flickered back to life, and the anticipation in the hall heightened once again. The flicker felt more intense this time, as though the magic it carried was even more vibrant, more alive.
The night sky appeared on the screen, a blanket of stars shining like scattered diamonds across the vast dark sky. The viewers could feel the magic radiating from the scene, as if the very air was charged with power. A soft wind rustled through the trees, and the gentle tinkering of chimes carried on the breeze could be heard.
The camera slowly panned over a dense forest, the leaves shimmering in the soft moonlight, and there, nestled deep within the woods, was a clearing. The moment the viewers’ eyes landed on the clearing, they could feel the magic intensify. The screen almost seemed to pulse with energy—magic so raw and ancient that it felt alive, as if the forest itself were part of the ritual about to unfold.
There was a collective intake of breath as the camera panned across the dense forest, its leaves shimmering like silver under the moonlight. The air in the hall felt different—charged but calming. Even those students who usually whispered amongst themselves during the visions sat perfectly still, transfixed by the screen. The wind in the vision seemed to carry a soft, tinkling sound, like chimes on a breeze, and though no one could explain why, it felt… peaceful.
"This feels… different," Hermione whispered to Ron, her brows furrowing as she leaned forward. “I can feel the magic, but it’s not like anything we’ve learned.”
Ron nodded, his usual flippant attitude replaced by a rare moment of seriousness. “It’s not like when we saw Harry storming through the Forbidden Forest last time. That was… raw. This feels… warm, like it’s inviting us in.”
