Charlotte's Pov:
Ellie was on stage, her words slurred as she sang the song. I couldn't help the laugh rumbling through me, my stomach sore at how hard I was laughing.
As she finished the song, she bowed playfully making me giggle. Then as she turned, her gaze met mine as she introduced me.
"Ladies and gentlemen introducing to the stage!! Drumroll pleaseeee." Ellie said, as the few people in the bar hit on their tables as they were drumming.
"Charlotte Fields!!!" She said, drunkly making me laugh. I ordered myself a few shots and after I downed one, I stood up and smoothed out my suit slowly.
I could tell I was drunk but my mind made it seem like I was perfectly fine. I made my way to the stage stumbling slightly until I grabbed a hold of the mic.
'Anything' by SWV starter playing, and my mouth opened as my expression was happy.
"Ahhh this is my songgg." I squealed, making everyone around me laugh.
As the song started to play and I began to sing. Obviously it was a bit off key as the amount of alcohol in me, was enough to make me unaware of my surroundings.
As I continued to sing, I heard a bunch of applause and cheering coming mostly from Ellie and her friends but they were of course equally as drunk if not more.
As the song went on, it reminded me of an edit I once saw. Of who? Well none other than Kamala herself and god she looked fine. I started to sing with my heart as if I were singing it to her. In my head I sounded amazing but to everyone else, I knew they wanted to shove forks in their ears.
When the music ended, I smiled and bowed down drunkly almost knocking myself over. I stumbled my way over to the bar again and this time Ellie coming back with me as she was laughing.
"Looks like you have more talents than just writing." Ellie teased as she nudged my shoulder.
She herself got three more shots in her system before calling it quits for the night. I downed the rest of my shots, shaking my head hoping that would make me feel a bit better or wake me up but to no avail did it work.
As we paid for our drinks, we laughed on our way out of the bar. Ellie told her friends goodbye, and I hugged each one telling them it was nice to meet them. As Ellie turned to me, she smiled.
"Tonight was really fun, I appreciate you coming out tonight. I think it was a well needed night out." She said, her words less slurred than earlier.
How the hell did she sober up so fast? I wish I had the ability to do that. It would spare me the hangover for tomorrow although it was Friday so I don't think I would need to work. I was still drunk and still stumbling over my own feet.
"It was indeed really fun. We need to do that again." I attempted to walk, but fell forward into Ellies arms as her eyes met mine.
"Jesus, Charlotte. Are you alright?" Ellie asked as we held each other's gaze and I could see Ellies gaze look down for a minute.
My mind was clouded so I couldn't think clearly before I started to lean in. She did the same before a familiar voice interrupted, snapping me out of my trance like state.
"Good evening Ms. Fields." The secret service agent spoke before he looked towards Ellie. "Ms. Greene." He nodded acknowledging her presence. "I was ordered to bring you to the White House. There had been a change in the schedule that the President would like to discuss with you. Please follow me." He spoke, and I looked to Ellie as I gave her a small smile.
"I will see you on Monday. Tonight was really fun." I said, before I began to follow the secret service agent.
"Please text me when you are home so I know you're okay." I said, turning back to Ellie and waved at her. She smiled telling me she would as I got into the car.
