Kamala's Pov:

The car pulled up to a not-so-far apartment complex from the white house. A decent place, one I could remember from my earlier years of college. A familiar feeling of what almost felt like home.

My door opened, and as I shuffled my way out the car, secret service on both sides of me. One stood at the entrance of the apartment and one by my side, as the other sat in the driver's seat.

I looked around taking in the scent, the smell of fall and steadiness, keeping me grounded. I looked to the sky, smiling at the stars and the moon. Soon enough, I heard Charlotte's heels clicking on the sidewalk and I turned my attention to her a soft smile on my lips. She had changed back into the clothes she had worn the previous night. Her sweatpants hanging loosely, her jacket wrapped around her, keeping her warm.

"Lead the way, Ms. Fields." I spoke, my voice firm as I watched the way she blushed slightly, making a smirk pull at the corner of my lips.

"Of course, Madam President." She nodded before she walked up the steps, opening the door waiting for me to walk past her, and I did smiling as the secret service agent, held the door for Charlotte.

I took in the surroundings, humming softly at the light music playing. It felt safe, like nothing bad would happen here. It was a rare feelings to have, but here it was.

As we entered the elevator, the space was filled with a comfortable silence though, I could feel Charlotte's nervousness. My eyes flickering down, seeing her hands fidgeting with her purse. I chuckled softly as I looked at her, a playfulness glint in my eyes.

"There is no need to be so nervous darling. I ensure you there is no reason to be nervous around me." I spoke, my voice calm and poised. I could see the heat rise to Charlotte's cheeks, making her laugh softly.

"I'm sorry, I just hadn't expected to have company with me tonight. I haven't had company in my home for quite some time now." Charlotte spoke softly and I hummed softly in response before I turned my attention back to in front of me.

The secret service agent, sat in silence as he kept his same pose. Hands in front of him, his legs slightly parted, as he stared straight ahead. We arrived to the floor which had Charlotte's apartment and we exited as she led the way.

Secret service stood outside of the door, making sure to secure the area while me and Charlotte ventured through the apartment. I set my purse down on the counter, a content smile on my face as I looked around. I made my way to her living room, looking at the papers my eyes schemed through the stacks as I looked around and went to the bookcase taking in all the political books, then the normal books, a few i— myself have read.

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo hm? Interesting choice of books..." I said, smirking as I looked over at her. Charlotte wore a bashful smile on her face, making me smile before turning my attention to her books again.

As I looked around, Charlotte pulled out her phone and began a face time call with her best friend, before I found my seat on her couch leaning back on it with an amusing look on my face.

Charlotte's Pov:

As Shawn picked up the phone, he was wearing a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes and smiled as I knew what was about to happen. A long line of questions.

"Soooooo... how was your date?" He asked, with his normal playful tone. A blush deepened on my cheeks as I cleared my throat softly.

"It wasn't a date... just a girls night out with a coworker and her friends." I stated plainly, making faces towards him that told him to shut up.
