You and Harry are walking in the mall. Well, you're waddling and Harry's walking. You've been shopping for at least 2 hours, and your feet and back are killing you.
"Are you alright (Y/N)?" He asks every time you groan or so much as make a noise.
"Come on, we can finish all this shopping another day." He insists.
"Harry, I said I'm fine." Harry hasn't been exactly excited about the baby. Anytime the baby comes up, he goes quiet or leaves the room completely. Though he hasn't said it directly, you know he'd rather be hanging with the guys than having to care for a child. You don't blame him though. What rock star wants to be weighed down with a baby? That's why you want to get all of the shopping done today, that way you don't have to waste Harry's time with another shopping trip. You grab his hand as you continue your walk to the next store. Hand holding has seemed to be the only touching that has gone on ever since your baby bump made an appearance. He's shown no interest in touching the bump, he's hardly acknowledged it.
You've felt bad all day and have had a headache larger than Louis' bum for most of the shopping trip, and you're beginning to feel a little lightheaded. This happens a lot, and you know it's just another perk of being pregnant.
You shop around in another maternity store, but your headache only continues to get worse.
As you and Harry wait in line to check out, you have to grab his arm to steady yourself.
"(Y/N) you really don't look very good. Are you sure your okay?" He asks, but you barely hear the question.
Your legs begin to shake and your knees quickly buckle. Harry catches you before you can hit the ground.
"Harry, I'm really dizzy." You stammer, his eyes filling with fear.
"(Y/N) lay down." You do as he says and spread out on the floor of the Mommy's & Me you're in.
"I think I'm going to pass out." You mumble to him.
You can barely make out Harry asking people to help, panicked. The last thing you hear before you black out is Harry yelling for someone to call 9-1-1.
-----------------
When you wake up, the room is empty except for a nurse messing around with your IV. Your hand immediately travels down to your bump. There are wires and monitors attached to it from every angle.
"What happened?" You ask the nurse who startles when she hears your voice. She's a gray haired woman probably in her 60's. She looks worn down and tired, but she still wears a genuine smile.
"I'll go get your husband, he went to get something to eat." She's quickly gone, leaving my question unanswered.
Shortly after, she returns, Harry following close behind her. She watches him kneel beside your bed and then abruptly leaves the room. A smile crosses his features and then he plants a kiss on your forehead.
"Hey sleepy head." He says, kissing the top of your hand
"What happened Harry?" You ask. He takes in a deep breath, preparing himself for what he's going to say.
"You were severely dehydrated, and your blood sugar was dangerously low. We had to call an ambulance." You nod your head but find the faint presence of a headache still there.
"And the baby?" You ask, your breath hitching in your throat.
"She's okay." He says, and he leans his forehead into his hands. The way he's acting makes you think that maybe she's not okay. She.
"It's a girl?" You ask, a tear springing to your eye.
"They had to do an ultrasound to make sure the baby was healthy. I didn't mean to say anything, I know you didn't want to know." He says, and you can see a tear hanging in the corner of his eye, threatening to fall.
"We're having a baby girl." You joyfully say. He smacks his lips into yours, and you feel a wet tear splash onto your face that doesn't belong to you.
"I'm glad you're okay." He says, wiping away his fallen tear.
"And I'm glad our little girl is okay." He says, placing one of his large palms over the bump.
"You are?" You ask, surprised by the gesture.
He clears his throat,"I had a very long ambulance ride to think about you two. And I got to thinking about what I'd do if anything happened to either of you." He takes your hand in his and continues. "And I know I haven't been there for you during the pregnancy, but I'm going to do better for you. This whole thing just made me realize how bad I want a baby with you, and how much I already love this one." He says, looking down at your rounded stomach.
"I was worried that everything was going to change, and it is, but now it doesn't seem that scary. Because now I realize that almost losing this baby is a whole lot scarier."
